About this castle / palace rental
This medieval style castle dates back to 1000 at its center and its added wings to 1500. Once the principle center of Caltignaga village, the castle surrounded by defense walls and has a neighboring church which was dedicated to its patrons service. With a long and beautiful history this castle has remained in the same family for 500 residents.
A ground floor with 5 rooms and a kitchen typical of 700s as well as fireplaces in every room, snooker, ping pong.
Upstairs 5 bedrooms 4 doubles and 1 single with three bathrooms. From a side staircase leads to a double room with an en suite bathroom. The castle is surrounded by a park and garden with heated swimming pool (may 2016), and barbecue. Mountain bike available.

It's a castle! What a treat to be able to spent time in this classic house, with lots of antique details. That also means it's in need of bit of TLC. The pool is great.

Photos do not do this place justice. The castle is truly amazing, as well as the garden and pool area.
We had a great stay in this unique and charming building and I would recommend it to everyone.
The owners always replied swiftly and the staff that checked us in and was very friendly and helpful. They even arranged for a private chef to come and cook delicious food for us.

Einmalige, wunderschönes, ruhig gelegenes Haus/Schloss mit einem riesigen Garten. Unkomplizierter Gastgeber, sehr gute Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, sehr viel Platz, super Küche (Gaskochherd) und top Grill.
Sehr empfehlenswert, weil absolut einzigartig!

Freundliche Betreuung durch Verwalter Giorgio und Haushälterin Suana. Vorhanden sind 12 Schlafgelegenheiten. 2 Schlafgelegenheiten sind nicht brauchbar (Betten im Raum über der Küche) und weitere 2 sind gewöhnungsbedürftig. Die Betten sind für grosse Leute (>185cm) nicht optimal, da am Kopf- und Fussende ein Abschluss vorhanden ist. Es hat nur 2 ältere Fahrräder (nicht 7!). Die Stereoanlage funktioniert nur auf einem Kanal. Der Garten ist gut gepflegt. Unter den Bäumen sollte das Laub entfernt werden, da dies eine Brutstätte für Mücken und Fliegen ist. Der Grill im Remise hat uns gefallen, leider war das Essen in diesem Bereich infolge vieler Mücken und Fliegen nicht möglich. Der salzwasserhaltige Pool ist ideal für Gross und Klein. Die Nähe zu Novara ist ideal. Die Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in Caltignaga sind gut (Tigros, Bäckerei, Pizzeria und Gelateria).
