Black Sheep Medellin

My private room was a really high standard, comfortable bed, spacious, and a desk with really good WiFi so I could also get some work done. The staff were all excellent, Juliana and Daniel were particularly helpful. Location is great in Poblando. I liked it some much I extended an extra 4 nights!

Excellent vibes. Clean rooms. Good communal spaces and kitchen. Staff were fantastic and let us change to an air conditioned room when it was very hot (at no extra cost)! We struggled to find reasonably priced accommodation in Medellin, but this hostel was fantastic and I will definitely be recommending it to others!

Free coffee but very weak 😂

For solo travelers seeking social vibes without feeling like you have to go the club (though plenty of people also do that), this is the spot for you. I've stayed at many hostels all over the world, and this was among the best for socializing. I spent most of my evenings sitting around the big outdoor table drinking cheap beer and chatting with people from around the world. This is why I travel, and Black Sheep does it well! Location is also great, about as safe as you can be in Medellin, with metro, groceries, ATMs, and restaurants all within a short walk.

Maybe it's just me, but prices for private rooms at hostels have gotten really high. Loved my stay and the room was good, but $60U.S./night in a hostel is far beyond what I expected to pay, even for a private room.

The hostel has pleasant common areas with plenty of tables to relax, eat or work. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Guests can pay with Revolut to avoid the additional card surcharge.

The majority of travellers here are British. I’m not sure whether the hostel is advertised on a popular UK website, but it was the first place during my trip through Colombia where one nationality was so heavily represented. At times, this felt a little overwhelming, as I generally prefer a more diverse mix of travellers. There are also relatively few bathrooms for the size of the hostel. That said, the facilities were clean and well maintained, and I never experienced any queues during my stay.
