The air-conditioning wasn't sufficient. Bathrooms need more shelving to put our own toiletries but I understand it'll be addressed soon.

Hotel Mas Valentine - a gem in Provence

The hostess was fabulous and made every part of our stay extra special. The hotel is lovely, exuding a level of quality that was quite unexpected. The hotel enabled easy parking and exploration of surrounding areas with bicycles. The hotel is a great base for exploring the magical town of Saint Remy de Provence, and so much more.

We found having a car essential to getting around.

Absolutely wonderful. Beautiful and peaceful. A refuge from the bustling city.

The hotel manager and receptionist were incredibly nice and helpful. They were really welcoming and responded to any queries we had very quickly and gave us helpful advice about local tourist attractions and restaurants. The hotel rooms were spacious, really clean and comfortable. The grounds were beautiful and really peaceful. There was a large swimming pool, but it was not heated and too cold to use in September. There was a jacuzzi and sauna which we used and I booked a massage which was provided by an outside company who attended the hotel. It was wonderful and one of the best massages I have ever had.

I failed to realise, before booking, that there is no restaurant on site. The hotel provides breakfast only and snacks on request during the day, but the price of the rooms was equivalent to a hotel that also has a restaurant. As the hotel is in the suburbs of Saint Remy, it meant having to drive to another location for dinner. Although Taxis and Uber exists, they are expensive, e.g. we were quoted £51 each way to travel to a village 10 minutes away, so we chose to drive. On our other night we chose to buy food from a supermarket and eat it at the hotel. We would have preferred it if the hotel had a restaurant so we could enjoy the evenings in the beautiful, peaceful surroundings.

Do yourself a favour!!!

We left our previous accom early due to disappoint, but we SO weren’t disappointed with Mas Valentine. It was everything we expected in our Provence holiday. The building and rooms are gorgeous, the staff are wonderful and will do anything for you. The location just out of St Remy was perfect. We highly recommend Mas Valentine.

Perfect place to stay while exploring Provence

The property is beautiful, the girls on the front desk make you feel at home. Breakfasts was great, location perfect. I would go back to the hotel.

Great place, a few small changes would make it perfect.

The room was very spacious with huge closets and a large bathroom. The property was extensive with beautiful gardens. Free parking was a great plus and I loved all the extra pillows. It was also great to have streaming channels! Nicely decorated with real stone tiles in the bathroom. Service from everyone was excellent especially the front desk staff. There was a nice, relaxed feel where all the guests chatted over breakfast. It was close to everything but far enough away to feel relaxed and secluded.

The air conditioning ran too cold. Even on a high temperature setting it just got too cold very quickly. And I prefer fresh air at night anyway. But the mosquitoes were too much of a problem. Bugs are expected in a garden setting so there should be screens on at least some of the windows. And although there were lots of pillows, some variety in softness would be welcome.

Enjoyable stay in country house hotel

Very friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast buffet with many options, comfortable beds. Good base to explore St. Remy and surrounding places. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much.

A/C in our room did not work properly. Somewhat weird bathroom layout (too many doors). No face washers were provided.

The hotel is charming and the pool is vast. We did a massage for two which was amazing.

We arrived to an half-empty swimming pool without being told beforehand. Also, the hotel is very close to a high-traffic road and you can hear cars passing by all day long (a bit less at night but still).

Wonderful stay just outside Saint Remy

We loved the location just outside of Saint Remy. The staff were wonderful. The pool and outdoor space for breakfast were beautiful.

The suites were a little dull. Bathrooms were great, but it lacked character and needed some pictures on the walls and the furniture was dated. Bigger isn't better unless it comes with some comfortable sitting space. It was bare. But we loved it all the same. AC worked great and the bed was comfortable.

A beautiful Provencal retreat close to St Remy's main village.

The room was spacious and the bathroom was beautifully designed. The staff were very friendly and we appreciated the list of suggested restaurants. It was too cold to use the pool and outdoor seating in April but it looked lovely. The exterior of the building was stunning.

Overpriced comparing to other 4* hotels in Provence

Great location close to St. Remy, very clean spacious room. We had a suite.

We couldn't use the hotel in the evenings because there was no one from the staff in the hotel. We were off season so that might be the reason... The kitchen by the breakfast room and is open all the time so you hear chefs making calls and talking. The staff are a bit tactless. We complained about mosquitos and the ventilation and she made fun of us and did nothing to solve though proposed a solution.

The hotel looks older in the reality than on the pictures. The garden is not well cared. Spa could have at least water for the customers. You can see it was there before, but not anymore. The rooms look pretty basic.

Excellent stay ! Met all our needs and would definitely return if we visited this region of Provenc.

Good location for visiting St Remy, Les Baux and region. Very comfortable, spacious suite with a little garden. Lovely breakfast area set on a tree shaded terrace. Good selection food. Large swimming pool with ample sun beds. The reception staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

A few more parasols around the pool, please!
