The setting is beautiful and peaceful, with lovely gardens and open spaces. The fillet steak I had on my first and last evenings was excellent, and the fresh pomegranate juice at breakfast was a highlight. The property is also genuinely dog-friendly, which is increasingly hard to find. My dog absolutely loved the space and had the best time exploring, which really helped make the stay more enjoyable on a personal level.
Communication needs significant improvement. Despite the property being aware that Google Maps often sends guests to the wrong location, no clear directions or location pin were sent in advance. I ended up on the wrong road, which resulted in damage to my car. I later overheard the same issue happening to another guest, so this is clearly not an isolated incident.
There was also no advance communication about a large Christmas lunch event being hosted, nor the option to opt in or out, which affected dining availability and the overall atmosphere.
I had to change rooms due to a non-functioning toilet that made loud noises throughout the night. There were several maintenance and cleanliness issues, including a dripping shower, a cleaning cloth left in the shower, cobwebs on windowsills, and linen that did not feel fresh. Some rooms are also extremely dark.
Service in the restaurant was slow and inattentive, and room service took a long time even for simple orders. Breakfast was disappointing and did not meet expectations for a four-star establishment.
