A beautiful resort with exceptional staff and service, but serious maintenance and hygiene issues in the Moana villa tha

The resort itself is absolutely beautiful, with stunning surroundings. The staff and service were the highlight of our stay — very kind, attentive, and professional. When water started leaking from the ceiling, the team handled the situation well and offered us a room upgrade.

Unfortunately, the villa we were given (Moana) was not worth the high price. On our last night, several mice were running inside the villa walls — or possibly inside the room itself — which was very disturbing. During heavy rain, water was leaking through the ceiling in the upstairs bedroom. For a resort at this price level, these issues are unacceptable.

Every single thing about this resort was dreamy!!! It was so extraordinary on every level, we did not want to leave. The views are exceptional, the staff so generous with their smiles and time, the rooms are like walking in to an art gallery. The detail to design just melted us!!! This is a 10 out of 10 experience!! Even breakfast is a beautiful experience 🙏

Samavaya is the best

This resort is truly wonderful. Everything was perfect and beyond our expectations. The service was excellent, professional, and always attentive, making our Christmas and our stay absolutely unforgettable. The food was outstanding, with great quality and variety every day. The rooms were beautiful, comfortable, and always spotless. The common areas were spacious, elegant, and very well maintained, showing great attention to every detail. We felt welcomed and cared for at all times. This resort offers the best in every aspect and made our holiday truly special. We highly recommend it and look forward to coming back.

A perfect jungle retreat

We spent five nights at Samanvaya and had a truly wonderful stay. Nestled among lush jungle and rice paddies, the property offers stunning views in every direction while maintaining a peaceful, authentic atmosphere that blends beautifully with the surrounding nature. The service throughout the hotel, restaurants, and spa was consistently excellent, attentive, warm, and professional. We dined at the on-site restaurants several times and really enjoyed the wide selection of both local and Western dishes. Everything was beautifully presented and high in quality, though prices are a bit higher compared to the nearby warungs. The spa offers an extensive menu of treatments, all performed by incredibly friendly and well-trained specialists. Each visit left us feeling relaxed and well cared for. We also booked a Mount Batur hike through Samanvaya, and it became one of the highlights of our trip. Both the transportation and the exceptionally friendly guide made the early-morning adventure smooth, memorable, and absolutely worth it. Overall, Samanvaya exceeded our expectations and made our time here unforgettable. Highly recommended.

Perfect stay 😊

Everything We treated ourselves to a 4 night stay for my partners 50th birthday, he had a very special day. We had spa treatments and in the evening a romantic dinner in the gazebo by one of the restaurants, waiter service by Zety who explained what each dish was and was very friendly. I took some decorations for the room and whilst at the spa, they decorated the room for me. Staff sung happy birthday to my partner at breakfast on his birthday and gave him a cake, flowers and a card. Our room was Mandala 1, beautiful room, needed earplugs during 2 nights as the frogs outside were loving the fact that it rained and we’re having a party 😂 Ate at all restaurants. Surroundings areas were beautiful, did a cookery class with Green Kitchen and a silver workshop with Santi (just outside the hotel) Ate at a local warung one evening which was lovely, Warung Joni (4 tables) Amazing stay, beautiful area.

We stayed in the Kayu garden room, these are beautiful and private, with an outlook over a beautiful calm garden, flowing water sculptures and your own balcony with seating area. Perfect for your own little getaway. Make sure you try out the Ananda spa, pure bliss.

I had the best food in Indonesia at their on-site restaurant, Asri. Simply amazing! The area is not touristy and a moto ride with guide is great fun.

Romantic, luxurious getaway in the beautiful Sideman valley

Our villa (Mulia) and its views were amazing. The food is great and can be brought to the room. The staff is very helpful and welcoming.

Our outside bed wasn't fully clean on arrival. The AC blows directly onto the bed so not great to keep on at night.

Perfect

Stunning resort with fabulous attention to detail. From the moment we checked in all the staff knew that I was vegan and my friend lactose intolerant and this was observed at every meal. Pool bar staff so attentive, food was 5 star. We ate at the pool bar, Asri Dining, Citrus and Vine and also had facials at Amanda Spa and service, treatment and food was second to none. They also arranged 2 private tours for us and the drivers and tours were wonderful. Can’t wait to come back again.

Our Favorite Hotel in Bali – A Peaceful Paradise Surrounded by Rice Fields

Out of all the places we stayed in Bali, this was our absolute favorite. Nestled right in the middle of stunning rice fields, the hotel offers a peaceful and authentic atmosphere that immediately made us feel at home. The pool is beautiful and perfect for a refreshing dip while enjoying the serene landscape. We especially appreciated the large mosquito net around the bed, which the staff prepared for us every evening – such a thoughtful detail! The restaurant was also excellent, serving delicious food with warm and attentive service. Every meal was a pleasure. A special thanks goes to Purna, who truly made our stay unforgettable. He was so kind, friendly, and attentive – we really enjoyed getting to know him and appreciated his genuine hospitality. Travel Tip: We brought some Swiss chocolate with us, and it was a big hit! The staff were genuinely happy and excited to receive it. If you’re visiting from Switzerland, don’t forget to pack a few Schoggi – they’re very much appreciated! :-) This hotel is a hidden gem, and we can’t recommend it highly enough. We would come back in a heartbeat!

Wonderful stay, luxury experience in a hotel that gives back to the local community. Everything is organized to profit local business and support Sidemen as a whole (the gift shop gives back part of the money, there are activities that promote the area, you can donate..). Samanvaya is in Sideman, which is a slice of ‘old Bali’ perfect for experiencing what Bali was probably like at its best…..away from the ridiculous traffic and crowds now prevalent in the more popular overtouristed destinations. Staff were discreet and extremely helpful, with nothing too much trouble. Food and beverages were all top quality, and the location was stunning. Amazing infinity pools, with incredible views.

Pools would benefit from a bit more shade. Many of the sun beds were without shade for much of the time.

We had the most amazing time at Samanvaya Resort. The people are incredibly kind, and you truly feel like royalty. The rooms and the views are stunning, and the food is absolutely delicious. You don’t even need to leave the hotel to have a fantastic time, although Sidemen itself is definitely worth exploring too. We’ll definitely be coming back!
