Beware

The location is very convenient for the beach on the west side of the peninsula and an easy 5-minute walk/stroll into the central part of the town. There were ample dining choices just outside the hotel

For perspective, my wife and I have travelled for two months each year for 8 of the past 10 years throughout Europe, 17 countries in total. We have stayed in hundreds of accommodations, AirBnB, Hotel, B&B, Apartels etc. and have NEVER had the management dictate how the HVAC is controlled in our room. This hotel had a standing policy that during the night your room has no air conditioning other than an inadequate ceiling fan. Our room was 28 degC at night. I mentioned it to the desk staff and they claimed there was nothing they could do about it. There was no way to cool the room during the day as all power to the room is shut down when the guest is not in the room. The outside temperatures at night were slightly below 25 degC but the entire building heated up well above that during the day and retained the heat. Opening windows for a breeze was out of the question due to street noise. All in all a very uncomfortable experience. Bizarre! ALSO, they front desk policy was that you turn your key in when you leave your room and place in in a rack sitting on the front desk, NOT behind the counter as in most hotels. The desk staff claim they monitor to ensure only the guest retrieve their respective key. However we noted many instances where the staff was off to the bathroom or elsewhere and the front desk was unattended. Crazy. Needless to say we avoided placing our key in the aforementioned rack to ensure our room was as secure as possible. A real head shaker!

Good choice

Excellent location, right next to the beach, where guests have a 50% discount on deckchairs (4 euros a set). Spacious room with a large terrace. The room is clean and nicely decorated, the bathroom is ok. Breakfast is good, but nothing spectacular, friendly staff, street parking, usually there are spaces.

Location is fab, right across for the beach. Room was very adequate, clean and good bathroom, with plenty of hot water and good power in the shower. Balcony was nice, with the promised side-view of the sea, table and chairs and drying rack

Not enough power sockets in room. Breakfast was moderate at best: decent choice of items but rather low quality for many of them. Extremely watery orange juice, typical "hotel style" coffee, etc. (would prefer to pay €15 less for room with no breakfast and get better breakfast elsewhere

We loved that it is situated on the best beach, but in a quiet part of the town in the evening, so you get a peaceful night with the town centre just 5 minutes walk away.

Very friendly, professional reception. Everywhere in the hotel was absolutely spotless. Room was a good standard, bed comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful, delicious and well presented. Very convenient for the beach and close to local restaurants and shops.

A great hotel with friendly staff in a quiet yet accessible location

Away from the shops but very close to. Across the beach with a lovely view. Definitely happy that we had a balcony on the front side to enjoy the view. Spacious.

Breakfast was moderate, location is very good and beach is amazing! Hotel is located in quiet area of the city and that helps a lot. We were in October - so there were no problem with parking or place on the beach. Very good beach!

Shower was leaking, room on first floor felt like basement (depressing) and there was no place to wash your legs from the beach, so we had ton of sand in the room without broom/scoop.

Excellent location on beachfront with own, reasonably priced, sunbeds and umbrellas. Also adjacent snack bar providing light lunch options. Rooms small but clean. Good (buffet) breakfast. Close to all amenities including supermarkets, ATMs and restaurants including an excellent vegetarian one.

Confusion over booking meant suite booked not available. Cheaper side room quite acceptable.

Pleasant but not amazing

Wifi was the fastest we had on the entire trip. Location was nice, across the road from a beach (which was windy while we were there). Probably the only place on Crete where people actually wore masks. Breakfast was included, boiled eggs, yogurt, coffee tea fairly typical of Crete breakfasts.

Air conditioning is central and after covid you start to think differently about how all that air circulates. Aircon also is turned off from 8am to 2pm and I noticed it goes on cold blast from 7-8am. When the air is on you do feel you can control the room temp. The rooms need to be updated/renovated. I also did not like returning the key each time we left the room without any real control on who takes your key. Didn't feel super safe for me. The price was higher than other locations we visited around the island considering the quality, value for money felt off.

Helpful staff

Breakfast was included in price but we had to leave early in the morning before breakfast openend, so I‘d rather not pay for that. More expensive compared to more superiors accommodations that we stayed in in the previous days.
