About this house rental

In The Heart Of One Of Brittany's Prettiest Villages, this characterful former Coach House is set within a private courtyard accessed through an archway. 'Belle Isle en Terre' is just off the main N12 between Guingamp and Morlaix providing easy access to the ports of Saint Malo and Roscoff, and the airports of Dinard (Saint-Malo) and Brest. In a straight line it is about 12 miles from the nearest coastal resort with its incredible beaches and approximately a 25 minute drive. BIET boasts village etapes status. https://www.village-etape.fr/villages-etapes/belle-isle-en-terre. The village itself has a well stocked small supermarket 'Carrefour Contact', a Cave du Vin, & a few small bars/cafes, including a recently opened Ty Martin's Bar & Salon du The, both open in the evenings. There is also a traditional Breton Creperie open lunchtimes & evenings. The village hotel, Les Relais des Argoat has an outstanding restaurant with fabulous reviews. Amazing food and very good value. There is a 'Bio Market' every Tuesday in Les Halles opposite the entrance to the house from 1600-1900. Locally it is good for trekking/walking, fishing, biking and golf. If you love the great outdoors, this is the location for you. Fantastic access to riverside walks and mountain biking trails within the local forests Coat an Hay & Coat an Noz with its amazing Chateau, but not so far to the beach. Perfect for annual events such as the Rando Muco and Festival Blues des Deux Rivieres.

The property is located less than 50 metres from the river, providing a perfect setting for riverside walks, kayaking, fishing etc. It has 5 double/twin bedrooms. The first floor has a seated shower room with sink and wc. The master double bedroom is very spacious and has a cot. It has 2 free standing wardrobes, king sized bed, dressing table, chest of drawers, chair and bedside units. It features the original beamed ceiling. There is a small adjoining bedroom that has 2 single beds that zip together to make a super king if required. This bedroom also has its own access. One of the other first floor bedrooms has twin beds able to be zipped together as a.super king, the other has bunk beds (2 beds), both with wardrobes, dressing tables and drawers. The whole first floor is carpeted and has a 'Chillout Zone'/playroom for use by children/teenagers which has a two double click clack sofa beds.

The ground floor has a large living room with seating, 50" tv/dvd and a storage unit. This room features bi-fold doors onto a paved sun terrace, allowing the garden to become an extension of the lounge and bring the outside in. There is also a fireplace with a coal effect electric fire with lighting to give that cosy feel. There is a modern fitted breakfast kitchen with dishwasher, microwave and electric oven and hob, etc. The ground floor shower room has also a sink and wc, and a washing machine for guest use.

There is a separate traditional dining room with tables and seating for 10. There is an additional table that can be put up alongside for larger groups. The second double bedroom is decorated in Laura Ashley Toile de Jouy, French traditional style and is on the ground floor. This would be suitable for those with mobility difficulties as there is only a small step down from the lounge to the hallway that leads to this room and the dining room. The same can be said for access to the ground floor shower room. It would be ideal for grandparents to have their own space away from the grandchildren playing upstairs!!!

Please note bed linen & towels are provided for stays of 7 nights or more. They are available for hire for stays of less than 7 nights at a cost of 8 euros per double set, 5 euros per single set and 3 euros for towels per person. Duvets and pillows are provided.
There is a cot available in the Master Bedroom & a high chair in the dining room. A push chair is also provided. There is a spare cot sized mattress should it be needed.

First, Melanie was very good with communication which I appreciated. I was very excited about staying here and the pictures made it look great but all 4 of us were very disappointed when we stepped inside, the entire house was very dated & tired. Someone had left a bucket in the middle of the kitchen floor. Our bed was uncomfortable & the bedding was very sad. The overall impression was how cluttered the kitchen was with stuff. I had expected to love it so understandably, I was so disappointed.

I said with my Wife and two children, boy aged 12 and girl aged 15. The village has all the amenities you could ask for. From pubs to bakeries! The village also has local walks and great cycling trails. Regarding the accommodation, it was jest perfect for our needs. spacious bedrooms where we could have our own individual timeouts, south facing outdoor area for all day sun trap. The property was clean and welcoming and it was a perfect stay. Thank you Mel & Owen

    A lovely Autumn stay
    A lovely Autumn stay
We stayed at this property for a week in Sept 2016, our party consisted of 4 adults and a dog. The house is located in a lovely quiet private courtyard right in the centre of the picturesque village, which was ideal, as the local shops/bars/restaurants were only a few minutes walk away. We sampled several of the local eateries, all of which were good. The house is very spacious inside, with good sized bedrooms. The lounge is light & airy with folding half timber/glass doors, which opens out into the secure walled garden, which has a raised patio area with table & chairs, which enabled us to catch the last of the evening sunshine. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything that one needs for cooking/dining in, which we did on several nights during our stay, making use of the lovely dining room. The downstairs WC is a welcomed bonus to this property. We will definitely be back in 2017, as there are so many more local beaches & villages that we would like to visit.

A spacious period property in a delightful area.

Our party was a group of 8 who were attending the wedding of an old college friend. We decided to stay a week at the cottage and explore a little bit of the local area.We were certainly glad that we did.We travelled from Roscoff in two cars,a journey of just less than one hour. The cottage is very large and easily accommodated our party. It has been renovated to a good standard and was tastefully decorated and furnished,it was also very clean. The kitchen had all the facilities that we needed. We had several enjoyable ,cosy meals and drinks in!! The cottage was warm and there was plenty of hot water. The local village of Belle Isle en Terreis very picturesque. The supermarket and bakery are well stocked. We sampled two of the local eating places ,both were good value. We did quite a bit of walking in the local area and travelled further afield to the coast[well worth a visit] The cottage is very good value for money, everything went smoothly and I would certainly stay again and explore more of the beautiful area.
