Movenpick Resort Agios Nikolaos Sivota

The views were incredible. The room was fabulous, beds very comfortable, great bathroom, huge shower, bathrobes, all you would expect from a 5 star. Lovely infinity pool. Food in the restaurant and breakfast was excellent. Fabulous Serbian lady on reception.

Unfortunately what would have been a great experience was marred by a number of significant issues. We arrived on 15th August which is a holiday in Greece and also my birthday. I had booked Movenpick especially for my birthday. The reception area was serene and we were greeted by a fabulous reception lady from Serbia who couldn't have been more helpful. Great start. Unfortunately it went downhill from there. The hotel was completely overrun with people. We were unable to find loungers anywhere, not on the beach, by the adults pool or the family pool. There was thumping music being played and it had the vibe of a 18-30s holiday. When we went to the restaurant we were completely ignored until I complained. It was clear that the hotel had allowed non-hotel guests to use the facilities, or weren't policing it properly. Thankfully this was the only day that this occurred, the rest of the stay was much better, but my birthday was ruined. In addition, there was no encouragement from staff to ensure rules were followed. Young children were almost always in the adult pool and loungers were left empty for hours but claimed with possessions and towels. Rubbish and empty glasses were not tidied up. We complained to management about the various issues on check out and were amazed that the reception desk manager was not at all sympathetic or appreciative of our complaint. She was completely dismissive. She told us that as 15th August is a Greek holiday it will be busy and she was not at all concerned that we had paid for a 5 star hotel but were unable to use the facilities on the first day and honestly had had an awful time. She actually argued with us. Finally after a really upsetting, long conversation she agreed to give us a small discount on our bill which we appreciated, but honestly it was the complete lack of acceptance of an issue and the attitude that was most upsetting and we left with a bad taste in our mouths never to return.

Literally everything. This resort is out of this world. Definitely we will be back soon. _ Most comfortable bed, room facilities, pool and private beach facilities. We loved every little bit
