Agaoğlu My City Hotel Istanbul

The breakfast was more than acceptable, a good range of well prepared and well presented food.

My room smelt of cigarettes, and so my clothes smelt of cigarettes: not how I wanted to present myself when I went to my work meetings. This was my only criticism

The hotel has a beautiful lobby. The room has a large, comfortable bed and four pillows. Tea bags, instant coffee, and bottled water are provided free of charge, and the supplies are regularly replenished. There is a kettle. The tap water is hot. The air conditioning worked well and quietly. There are blackout curtains. It was quiet and clean. The room was cleaned every day. There were not many people around. The staff responded quickly to requests and behaved very professionally. There is a private covered parking area. There are four swimming pools — two outdoor and two indoor — plus a sauna and a hammam (separate for men and women). A swimming cap is required for the indoor pool, but apparently they provide them. We had our own. The breakfasts are good — they even served cheesecake once. There are eggs, various pastries, fruit, vegetables, soup, cheese, omelets, sausages, cereal with milk, juices, tea, and coffee. The breakfasts were really convenient because the food is varied and reasonably priced compared with restaurant food, and it is better to have something familiar in the morning if you don't know which restaurants are actually good. There is a supermarket and a pharmacy directly opposite the hotel. A metro station is nearby (about a 10-minute walk), as well as a large shopping center with a cinema. An iron and ironing board can be provided upon request.

The Wi-Fi could be faster. It is sufficient for browsing the internet, but in the evening, streaming a movie online can be a bit slow sometimes, while at other times it works fine. There is wallpaper in the bathroom, so it is starting to peel slightly at the seams. This was the only thing that was not perfect.

Excellent. Hotel upgraded our rooms. The breakfast was also good.

The signage in the parking area needs updating.

Staff not that friendly. Rooms don’t have basic things like tissue boxes. Bathroom old and has fungus, need renovation
