It was our 39th trip to this amazing resort. I have never left disappointed and still continue to be amazed at this incredible place. We love the staff that have made all of our trips there amazing. They are led by Vicente and his awesome support staff of Edgar, Yolanda and Joselo (Miguel was on a vacation). The staff of Diego, Johnny, Michel, Osmar, Lorenzo, Israel, Pablo, Sairy, Omar, Jocelyn, Angel, Jose Luis, Joel, Virginia, Amanda, Marcos, Wilberth, Jerry, Jorge, Jose, Teresa, Brennick, Magdiel, Sonia and Veronica continue to be there for us (I’m sure I am missing so many). We will continue to return this amazing place because the staff, grounds and food is awesome.

This was our 3rd trip to Valetin. This time was not as good as we previously remembered it. The pool tile didn't seem clean with algae growing in the grout. The pool also was very warm (1st week of May) - should have a chiller to cool the water to make it more refreshing. They also have two pool exercising classes that go forever! Pool games were simple and slightly entertaining. Service at the main swim up bar was slow and the resort could've have used another bartender there. Food trucks for a quick pool lunch were good but became repetitive and had NO guacamole (it's Mexico and no guacamole!). There are other options for lunch but not readily available in a wet pool suit. Our air conditioning was set to 73 degrees and would not go any lower - even had a technician in the room for an hour. The room air was also very damp. Bedsheets and clothing felt damp constantly. The food served at restaurants was typical resort quality withe exception of the French restaurant's filet mignon - the best steak on the resort. The pork ribs were also very good at the beach for dinner. The Mexican restaurant was disappointing as it lacked flavor. The shows in the theatre were hit and miss - some decent others not so much. Evening in the Plaza was enjoyable depending on the type of music the band was playing. It is a plus to have a live band. Other resorts do not have this. The gym is the worst resort gym we have seen and could use a complete rebuild. The Sports bar is nice, but why doesn't it serve bar food? - chicken wings would be a great addition! All-in-all, it is just okay. If you have never been to any other Cancun all-inclusive resort, you will probably like it. But when comparing to other resorts we have attended it doesn't rank with some.
