A dismal and vastly overpriced experience; for only a few euros more, we stayed at a four-star hotel in Porto the follow
It was available
From the moment we entered the (hot, stuffy) room, we knew there would be a problem. The AC did not appear to be operational, so we went downstairs and requested a remote at the front desk. We were told that only a few of the rooms had working AC, and that ours most likely did not, but that we could not be switched to another room because none were available. We were advised not to popen the windows, either, because of mosquitos. This was during a heat wave, with temps in the low to mid-80s. That night, the heat and lack of air became unbearable, and just to he able to breathe, we opened one of the windows slightly. Instantly, a horde of mosquitos flew in and started biting us. It was one of the worst hotel nights we have ever had. We got less than two hours' sleep, and emerged the next morning to catch our flight, sleepless and covered in mosquito bites. Only one of the two elevators was working, which made for a long and crowded wait at check-out. In our dazed state, we left one of our bags behind and in order to retrieve it, had to miss our flight and take a later one. A real nightmare!

Might be ok on a winter day but not an option in any other season.
Breakfast was very good. Room recently remodeled and clean. Probably not a bad place to stay in winter but definitely not when it is not cold outside as we found THERE WAS NO AIR CONDITIONING IN 3 OUT OF 3 ROOMS despite what the website says (see below under "what I did not like")
Being a frequent traveler in France, I always check to make sure there is air conditioning as it is not a given in French hotels. The website said this hotel had a/c. However, after trying 3 different rooms we found there wasn't any. The 20+ year old individual units are on the wall but they did not work: ROOM 1: thermostat was dead ROOM 2: thermostat was gone and wires were sticking out of the wall ROOM 3: a/c turned on but just made noise - no air came out. So we finally resorted to opening the one small window in the third room as it was unbearably hot, even though it was only a 25 degree Celsius day (77 F) in mid-May. This helped but then in the evening, the insects started flying in. So we had a choice: suffer the heat or get bitten. We ended up with numerous mosquito bites, a first in my many years of travel. SO UNLESS IT IS WINTER, THIS HOTEL IS JUST NOT AN OPTION.

Whre to start. Night shift reception was very rude. Rooms had broken AC, when asked they offered fans. And to make things worse windows couldn't be openned due to massive mosquito infestation The location is crap. We asked for a blanket and a pillow for my little kid but they refused and said to use the only ones available in the room. This hotel is a disgrace to the ibis brand and Accor group. So originally we booked 2 nights. But after the first night we left in the morning and asked to cancel the other night. I was surprised that they charged us for 2 nights although we stayed only one and explicitly asked it to be cancelled. So shameful.
