We really wanted to stay in hotel with a private beach. Sea at this time of the year is lovely and warm. Beach was good . People who work at the hotel are very good , kind and helpful . Hotel is very clean . Lots of towels by the pool and at the beach.
Unfortunately Puglia and especially area around Ostuni does not have many hotels with the beach. One can stay in a wonderful 5 star hotel in the middle of agricultural area with the pool , but not by the beach. At hotel Ostuni a Mare in order to get to the private beach one needs to take a small train( which was not working )or ask for the buggy and wait . Not very convinient at all. Another option would be to walk to the beach in 40C heat . 20 min walk there and back. Aircon did not work in the room ( electrician fixed it eventually ) . Control unit for the aircon was producing so much light during the night , it was impossible to sleep. Next thing was - the loo was blocked.. Super comfort room was tiny and dark. We had to pay for the upgrade. Reception area is full of people usually but aircon does not work very well at reception . Lots of areas at this hotel need an upgrade. Breakfast was ok. No fresh orange juice though. If you ask for fried eggs , they charge you 8 euros extra.
