About this chalet rental
Ca Na Polida is a great example of a historic Mallorcan townhouse that was renovated to its former glory in February 2013, revealing some of the architectural details of the period. Decorated with impeccable taste, our Ca Na Polida holiday home is modern and cosy.
Upon entering the house through a beautiful solid teak door, you are greeted by a spacious living room with a comfortable sofa. In the living room there is satellite TV with international channels and Wifi. The adjoining area is a fully equipped kitchen with air conditioning and a dining area, with all modern conveniences such as an electric oven and hob, and a dining table for 6pax.
From the dining room there is access to the terrace. This contains a barbecue, table and chairs, ideal for soaking up the balmy Mallorcan atmosphere.
Ca Na Polida has 2 bedrooms. The first with a double bed and an en-suite bathroom and direct access to the terrace.
The second bedroom has 2 single beds. The family bathroom is right next door.
The house is located in the old town of Alcudia, a historic little village with Roman ruins framed by a medieval city wall. Along the small streets you will find many different shops, cafés and restaurants.
Only 500 metres away you will find the beaches of Alcudia in the bay of Pollensa. There are several small sand and stone beaches.
1 kilometre further on you reach Port Alcudia, the largest sandy beach in Mallorca, with a total length of 15 km. On the beach you can practise a variety of sporting activities such as windsurfing, stand-up paddle surfing, sailing, bottom glass boats - excursions, scuba diving and much more. There are many playgrounds and many beautiful metres to walk.
The tiny fishing harbour and marina of Port Alcudia is also only 1 kilometre away. At the marina you will find old small fishing boats and new magnificent yachts. A small craft market is set up every evening and there are several restaurants and cocktail bars that are well worth a visit.
Immediately adjacent to Port Alcudia you will find Aucanada, one of the most beautiful pebble beaches in the north of Mallorca and the most famous golf course.
Places of interest such as the Roman town of Pollenca, the Roman theatre, the medieval town of Alcudia and the Albufera and S'Albufereta natural park can be visited on a day trip. There are also many beautiful hiking routes around Alcudia, Aucanada, Bon Aire, La Victoria and Coll Baix...

Die Wohnung ist groß und sehr komfortabel ausgestattet. Die Gestaltung ist mit viel Liebe zum Detail erfolgt, insbesondere die vielen Lichtinstallationen. Die Elektrik hat ihre "Finessen". Es kann durchaus zu einem Stromausfall kommen, wenn zu viele Geräte gleichzeitig betrieben werden. Aber in dem Fall geht ein Notlicht an und die Sicherung ist schnell wieder angeschaltet. Der Patio ist sehr schön und lädt zum Draußensein ein. Die Lage in der Altstadt ist perfekt - zentral, romantisch und absolut ruhig.

Die Ausstattung der Räume und die Bäder waren tadellos. Salon und Eingangsbereich für unsere Bedürfnisse etwas zu schattig: Meine Freundin braucht es einigermaßen hell, weil sie fast blind ist. Der Innenhof war für Mahlzeiten und zum abends Sitzen gut nutzbar, allerdings die hohe Mauer etwas bedrückend: Vielleicht könnte man eine zweite Kletterpflanze davorstellen?
Leider roch es im Eingangsbereich und im Kinderzimmer nach Urin, wohl von den Vormietern...
Eine Kleinigkeit /Irrtum: Nachträglich habe ich in meinen Unterlagen gelesen, dass die Ortstaxe inclusive und mit der Bezahlung erledigt sei. Zu Beginn des Aufenthalts bekam ich von Herrn Debreeze eine Mail, wenn ich keine Karten-Nr. angegeben hätte, müsse ich die Taxe in einem Umschlag in der Wohnung hinterlegen. Da ich keinen Umschlag fand, habe ich das Geld für 2 Personen und 7 Tage der Dame, die uns die 2. Bettwäsche brachte, bar übergeben, somit wohl doppelt bezahlt, aber : Never mind, es sind ja keine großen Summen. Diese Dame war sehr freundlich.
