It was spacious, clean and well equipped in a beautiful setting.
The floor boards were squeaky and there was no washer (as stated).

Everything was worn out and well used! Bed was terrible lost electricity on last day, tumble dryer didn’t work, no batteries in any remotes heating trips out! Very difficult to find and you have to drive to get anywhere! The cottage was right at the top of a gravelly hill! Not good for anyone elderly.

Very spacious accommodation
A bit farther from everything than I had expected

Location was convenient and the view was lovely.
Overflowing skip bin at the start of driveway. No toilet paper. Hot water came out brown with sediment in it. Beds were noisy and uncomfortable. Does not sleep four adults, maybe sleeps 2 adults and 2 kids as the single beds were short. One single bed was missing support slats and when you sit on it, you fall right through. No response from property when i messaged about hot water and bed issue.

Arrived at night but once we followed the detailed instructions, we were able to get checked in quickly.

The entire house was left with lights on, so it's quite nice to see at the late check in
The location is a bit different to find at the first time to check in

Peaceful and quiet place, the Silver Birch cottage is well equipped by most necessary kitchen appliances.
We had warm water running from the tab even during power outage.
No wi-fi.
Smell of drains outside of the property.
We had power outage after the storm continuing for almost 24 hours, and nobody from the staff contacted us to check if we needed something.

Nothing, awful, didn't stay
We booked a 2 night stay at the BCC Loch Ness Cottage. On arrival the property was not habitable nor safe, it was not clean, infested with mice, matresses had blood and urine stains all over it.
Kitchen was covered in mouse droppings, utensils were unsuable, bathroom was dangerous, broken tiles, so dirty, facilities were not working (dishwasher, fridge, hot water) the list goes on.
We raised the issues immediately, as we were unable to sleep in the bed, or use anything, we had a reply stating no one had complained before.
That was the end of the communication between us, the owner and booking.com. We can not get a reply at all, we lost our money.
I later found out from locals that the man who owns these properties and the hostal, is rude and greedy, has no regard for his guests and all of his properties are like this.
Don't be fooled by the fake reviews or photos, we can assure anyone who is thinking of booking one of the cottages or any of his properties that they are no habitable

A beautiful cottage in the woods, very spacious and comfortable. A great view.

Location was great, a cottage on top of a mountain with a private road, you cannot complain. Spacious property for at least 6 people. Good size kitchen and a separate utility room.
The induction hob was not great , probably it has done its life or might be some technical issue, it use to go full power for 10-20 sec and then cut off after that , either you wait for 10 sec approx for it to auto trigger or restart that particular hob again. Cooking an egg etc was an issue and it took lot of time and still undone. This was the only feature which was slightly disappointing other than that there was no wifi, ( i did not expected there to have wifi on a mountain top) , we all had our phones powered with unlimited internet so wifi was not an issue.

It’s nice and private
It need an outside light at the front door because of the steps

Nice area , nice scenery.
Had 2wasps nest ( loads of swaps flying about ) had to use back door in and out because of them , and I’m allergic to swaps also .couldn’t even open all the windows while there either because of the wasps. Which we could of been doing with doing as it was the heat wave weekend
dishwasher not working,no fire extinguisher, multiple plug extension for washing machine &tumble dryer which is a fire issue. Sticky sweets stuck to one of the kitchen unit selves, worktops were dirty especially behind the micro wave.
Tv didn’t work as someone pulled the end of the aerial out had to fix this couldn’t get very much channels at all to watch .
The bed frame is not the greatest very unstable was scared to sit on it , mattress was absolutely awful worst mattress ever dipped in the middle at one side ,could feel every spring.
Never had a very good night’s sleep all the time in the cottage .
Cottage needs refurbished
Decent bed, new dishwasher and fully painted and the windows need maintenance

Great location, although over 6 miles away from Loch Ness so to call it BCC Loch Ness is a bit of a stretch. That said the view out front is amazing.
The bed is amazing! Firm and comfortable. The property is spacious for a family of 4 and ample parking.
Unfortunately the view out back was dreadful! Felt like we were sleeping in a construction yard. Extremely disappointed.
Property was clean on the surface but not professionally done. Windows are filthy, skirtings not cleaned and spiderwebs on the lamps.
The water pressure definitely needs looked at and general maintenance needs to be addressed (floor bows as you walk on it, shower needs fix - only usable if you are 4ft tall, kitchen needs TLC and garden needs sorted).
Whilst there was no WiFi advertised, we were still disappointed to find no WiFi on site! There is a TV but it’s for show as you can’t connect to Netflix, etc. with no WiFi

We were able to book this property last minute as we had a last minute cancellation at another property. It was a very reasonable price and very spacious.
The bathrooms/cupboards were very mouldy.

Location
There was no washing machine, filthy tea towels, old bath towels, broken window handle and unsafe rotting wooden bench. It was not a great stay for the reasons given, especially not having access to a washing machine which proved extremely inconvenient and impacted on our remaining days away. If we had been notified of this prior to arriving we would have been able to mitigate matters. By the look of the space where the washing machine would go, there appears to be no plumbing, and the detail on booking.com still advertises a washing machine. They should amend these details until it is back in place as this is improper and dishonest. I am waiting for a partial refund

I reported the property as been dirty including the beds, I was told someone would get back to me then heard nothing, very bad customer service

The house is really spacious and beautiful! The surrounding is so beautiful and near with the hills. Got all the amenities we wanted. The kitchen is spacious and plenty of room available! But there’s no internet is a let down. Overall our stay is really great and we have a pleasant stay here! Will definitely visit again!

The cottage was nice
There was no TV, the bed was very uncomfortable we had to leave early and the floor was very creaky witch was very disappointing because if your partner was asleep thay would wake up

The location is fantastic. The property has its own privacy and at the same time not isolated from world. Stunning views from the windows. Clean, cosy and most importantly dog friendly. This allowed us to have our beloved Pomeranian with us . The cottage has enough space for all activities- games, dinning, rest. It’s well maintained and well heated which makes evenings even cosier. Money well spent!
It was all fantastic!

Views were amazing. Very roomy property. Comfy seating area and kitchen facilities. Excellent for one overnight stay.
No inside table or breakfast bar. One bed was very uncomfortable. Scanty signage helping us to find the cottage. Quite far from the town. Found a laundry there but nowhere to hang damp washing on return. We were there for 3 days after travelling for a week.

Location is good. The shower in the Brocks bungalow was good.
Originally booked into the Little House which would have been fine were it not for the fact that the shower didn't work at all. When we contacted the host he suggested we could move into the nearby Brocks bungalow which we did. The shower was very good in the Brocks but was traded for terribly squeaky floors throughout the Brocks bungalow. The 'clean' cutlery was in fact greasy and the dishwasher didn't work, There was a broken drawer front in the kitchen, broken floor tiles in the bathroom and a couple of window handles/mechanisms were defective or broken. We were greeted by an overflowing dumpster bin at the entrance road with many overspill garbage bags, plus empty drink cans strewn on the approach track.
20 years ago this place (apart from the squeaky floors) would have been great but now it's in need of some investment to finance basic maintenance and general upgrading.
It wasn't particularly expensive so if you're on a budget it would be OK but be sure to keep your expectations fairly low.

Very big house on top of the slope. Superb views, open area around the house, lots of space everywhere. Maybe the kitchen appliances were a bit tired but all worked well.
With snow, getting there may be a bit of an issue for 2WD.

Huge house, amazing landscape. Perfect place to enjoy your coffee in the morning surrounded by misty mountains and singing birds. Just across the street there is a nice river where you can go fishing. Very close to the property there is a farm with adorable Highland cows. The property is just in the middle of the turistic objectives like Loch Ness, Urquhart Castle, Waterfalls.

Nice Peaceful location with excellent views of the hill side. Cottage was nice inside and good sized rooms.
The cottage was only a 10min drive to all the local amenities.
This place is perfect for anyone wanting to escape life and have quiet remote place to chill and unwind, which is what we were after.
Even though it was -3 outside, owners had only turned on the lights and not the heating for us arriving so cottage was freezing and took most of the night to heat the place up.
After my partner had a bath I went to have a shower and the hot water only lasted 5mins so rinsed of my shampoo in the cold water and came out quickly. Not sure what was happening as later in the day the water was warmer again.
Wasn’t as clean as I would have expected, but this didn’t put us off any. There was a lot of cob webs around the ceiling and shower tray dirty.
Not something that I didn’t like but a suggestion, to maybe have a laminated sign in the bathroom to show where the Jacuzzi button is. And maybe a brush and pan and mop & bucket or something similar, as hoover was broken and couldn’t wash the floors during stay, with the location the cottages are in really needed a good clean each day.

No en-suite or internet

The cottage was very spacious and comfortably furnished. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes, appliances, etc. Washer/dryer was very much appreciated and worked great.
In my experience a self-catered cottage such as this often has a bit of essential food-related items, such as sugar, cooking oil, seasonings, etc; this one had none of those things. Only two usable mugs and few glasses. Double bed was not very comfortable. Shower was not super clean.
5.0 / 10.0
It would be a nice place with a beautiful view in a remote area if it did not have all the issues.
The master beds in both our cabins had broken or bent springs so were very lopsided. The bath mat in master bath was worn out with no backing left. There was no hand soap, dish soap, dishwasher soap, hot pads, paper towels or trash bags. There was no wifi, hair dryer or walk in closet as advertised. Porch light was burned out. Couch and a chair had broken legs. There was black mold in the shower off the hallway and bath tub not in good shape. The road leading to cabin is in rough shape. Trash was left on side of the house

View was lovely, very secluded, no close neighbours, looked better than the pictures
Matress was very uncomfortable with spring etc digging in, no pillow cases for spare pillows, only 2 towels, flooring was extremely creaky/noisy, tumble dryer was broken, no dog water/food bowls even though they knew we were bringing a dog.
