BCC Loch Ness Cottages

Detached bungalow, spacious, nice views. Clean with good parking, steep to access, could be tricky in winter. Clear instructions and directions. Nice quality furniture, would visit again. 6 miles from pubs and cafes.

Mattress needs replacing, think some springs are broken. Appliances need attention as does the shower head.

Very remote and quiet. Scenery was beautiful.

There should be a warning on how steep the entrance road is up to the cottage. Not all cars would be able to do this. The bed was far too low and the bedding was very old. It was cold and there were no blankets. The central heating did not work and only one of the electric heaters worked. The wooden floor was really creaky when you walked on it. The towels were really grey and old and didn’t smell nice. There was a bad sewage smell outside the bathroom.

Great location, large property with great views. The cost of the property, and other reviews, lowered my expectations but was pleasantly surprised. We were high up on the hillside so away from the road, which isn't busy anyway. The key was in a lockbox at the property, plenty of parking and room for the dog to run around of a long lead. The bungalow was a good size for 2 but dated and worn. the bed was comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped (see below). Generally a bit tired but, considering the location and price, good overall value.

Several things either didn't work, or we had to repair before use. The tumble dryer didn't tumble One of the heaters didn't work The shower was a pour as the shower head was broken. There is little communication from the owner There is no internet (none advertised) but a mobile phone set as a hotspot served as the signal was sufficient
