Rothko Museum residences

Reception staff was very polite and helpful before and during check-in. The room is large enough to be comfortable and conveniently located across the hallway from the kitchen. The bed was comfortable and there were large comfortable chairs outside the door in the hallway.

Access to the room was from the outside at the top of a long, awkward (landings between stairs are too long for normal strides) flight of stairs. Yes, it's an historic building but that doesn't make climbing the stairs with luggage easier. Both water glasses in the room were quite dirty and there were numerous flies in the room that kept waking us through the night. The location is an 8 to 10 minute drive from cafés and other attractions.

Truly remarkable location within the building that houses the Rothko Museum. The whole fortress quarter was amazing to explore after hours as a guest at the hotel.

Bed, it was like sleeping on plywood. Chair instead of night cabinet next to the bed, TV only 4 channels.

Great location for visiting the Rothko Museum and the Citadel. The room was very basic, but there is also a basic shared kitchen room for eating meals. The food and service at the Arsenal Cafe next door was much better than expected, and it is the only option unless you travel to the center of the city. But it only opens at 10, (as do most cafes in Latvia) so we went to the nearby Rimi in the morning and bought breakfast items.
