The hotel itself is very old. All the furniture is old and broken. The choice for breakfast is very scarce and basically everything is harmful. The mattresses look like they were bought in the 20th century and are still used today.

Not the best experiences: room not completely ready: missing bedspreads, towels and bathroom items (even just a glass that is also useful for the mini-bar). Major disappointment: room not cleaned at six in the afternoon. Unsuccessful reminder. Can I continue by saying that on the 12th floor there is a continuous noise of flowing water at night?!?

Only stay here if you just care about a nice, big spacious room.

The room was the only good part of this hotel. Huge spacious room, great bathroom and bed. That's about it!

The rooftop pool is a joke. Looks so nice in the photos though. Staff were rude/ not even available when we needed them. Would not recommend booking here!

The kindest staff and comfortable rooms!

Breakfast was great (coffee itself could be better), lot of options and all fresh! The structure looks a bit damaged but all the staff were kind enough to make it better. I wish they could feel more as part of the business, so they surely would care even more about the hotel and themselves (uniforms and all). Care is love.

Just not so close to Rio city centre and the hotel was too big and a bit empty, I felt a bit afraid, but nothing happened. Just feelings.

A NIGHTMARE FROM HELL - I WAS TOLD BY STAFF TO F/OFF -

Firstly I didn’t like anything , I’ve actually had the worst experience with barra Americas hotel , the staff might just swear and curse you , the staff might try charge your card twice , also charge you full rate and out you in the lowest rate room , staff very very very rude , actually told me to F off ( discracefull I was in shock how I was treated someone who spent over $10,000 in their hotel I was ashamed as I recommend this hotel to my work colleges before knowing this and they also had the worst experience I would never ever ever stay there again

There’s so much work they need to do to I don’t Evan know where to start - my suggestion JUST DONT SPEND YOUR MONEY HEAR / DONT BOOK !!! CHECK YOU BANK STATEMENTS THEY HAVE MORE LIKELY OVERCHARGED YOU DONT JUST PAY MINI BAR AS THEY LIE AND TRY CHARGE YOU FOR NOTHING THE WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE IVE HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE !!!!

only the location, it was close to the hospital were my mom was.

almost everything else than the location. their breakfast is the worst I ever saw, many option but nothing good. facilities not really clean, the daily room service didn’t really clean the room, the beds were not done, very poor service the fridge didn’t cool enough, the drinks were always hot. the bedroom was tiny, they don’t have physical connection for internet, only poor Wi-Fi, broken bedside lamp, broken lamps. we added one more day on our stay as my mom passed away and we would not be able to leave the next day, I payed and thought that it was all solved. the next day after my moms funeral we arrived in a dirty and messy bedroom, or connection was cancelled and suddenly someone knocked on the door to ask when we were going to leave the bedroom. excuse me?!

Didn't really enjoy anything about the hotel, terrible cost benefit and location

Traffic was terrible and could hardly sleep, even on an 8th floor. Took me almost an hour to check in, extremely inefficient staff
