The location was excellent, with easy access to the train and within walking distance of the tram. It was close to local markets and surrounded by plenty of great cafés and restaurants. As a solo traveller, I also felt very safe throughout my stay, which made the experience even more enjoyable.

There is nice tea room underneath and supermarket such as Auchan is nearby. It is clean and the lady who take care the hotel is very nice. Feel like home.
A bit walk to Rossio train station but it was a nice walk along the road with shady trees.

The lady host!
The location

The building is quite old (the elevator is a cage-style one from the early 20th century) and definitely needs work. However, the hotel itself is quite classy - think dark, heavy wood furniture with marble tops, thick drapes and those door-sized windows that open onto tiny balconies. The water pressure was very good, and the room had everything I needed.
The woman running the place, who also cleaned the rooms, was a little too interested in where I went and what I did. At first, I thought she was trying to be friendly. But after the first day, her inquisitiveness started to make me uneasy. I was happy to leave because of that, and I wouldn't recommend this place because of her.
