It has everything you need for a short stay and the recipient is really a nice person

Location is great: walking distance to everything, and in a non-touristy neighbourhood with some good restaurants and bars nearby. The staff on my check-in were extremely friendly and helpful, including carrying my suitcase up the narrow staircase. Bedroom was comfortable and surprisingly spacious. Small but functional bathroom.

Narrow stairs, no elevator: I still needed to carry my luggage down the stairs on checking out, of course. Though no doubt this is the norm in Amsterdam.

The location was great - centrally located, next to a good grocery store, parks, and center of town. We didn't meet our host on check-in and didn't interact with staff often, but when we did see someone, they were nice!

The amenities were quite bare bones - I asked multiple times about filling up water bottles, but the staff couldn't help us with it. Housekeeping filled up one water bottle in the room each day as part of services, but they didn't fill up the reservoir in the coffee machine so that meant that half of that water went to coffee anyway. There was a public tap close by but it was closed while we were there. The safe in our room was also not working - I messaged the host about it but they never circled back and didn't have it fixed while we were there. I later noticed there were lockers downstairs, but the host never offered us a locker or another solution. The fridge didn't really cool well, even though it was set to the lowest temp. We put a bottle of wine in there and it got to cool at best but not cold.
