Riad Jenaï L'Authentique

Our hosts were excellent! Yannick was very welcoming and kept reminding us that "this is your home" so we felt very comfortable taking advantage of all the riad's ammenities like the swimming pool and lounge chairs. They worked very hard to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. They accomodated us with an early breakfast when we had an excursion and provided an ample, delicious, timely breakfast each day. Our hosts were happy to chat and socialize with the guests - even accompanying one of our fellow guests to celebrate her birthday at a local restaurant. We are more reserved and the hosts gave us plenty of space and privacy to relax while still checking in on us unobstrusively. I really can't recommend this riad highly enough! It is perfect for adults traveling in pairs, small groups or solo.

The only thing I can think of that was a bit of an issue is that the toilet would run a while to refill the tank. Honestly, it sounded like an in-room fountain so in a way it added to the ambience! Our hosts were so gracious and eager to make us as comfortable as possible that we didn't even mention it to them while we were there because we knew they would drop everything to fix it right away. The riad is a little tricky to get to. You have to walk down several turning corridors (streets) which can make arranging to a drop off or pick up more of a logistical challenge. It is a hidden gem and certainly worth the trouble.

Beautiful Riad in the heart of the Medina. Lovely room and a gorgeous terrace upstairs where we enjoyed the afternoon sun and was pleasantly surprised there was a fridge where could purchase wine and beer. Reda our host was superb what a wonderful kind young man who couldn’t do enough for us, he is a star! Our room was kept spotlessly clean and the breakfast was delicious, a credit to the lovely housekeeper. The Riad was everything we hoped for to have an authentic experience of Marrakech. A wonderful few days away. The transfer to and from the airport was really appreciated as we never in a million years would’ve found it without Reda meeting us and taking us there!

Absolutely nothing!

Very helpful staff and owner, great breakfast, lovely quiet place. 300 year old building with the inevitable quirks of such an old place, but plumbing all worked well, WiFi and electrics all good, rooftop pool area well-maintained with plenty of seating. Lacked facilities to unpack our clothes in the room but otherwise a very good stay. Location is a bit unusual - access is through a winding alley under adjacent buildings, zigzagging until you get to the impressive door - but we were met from the taxi by Reda who took our main case and led us through part of the old town and showed us how to find our way when returning. He was also a great source of information about local restaurants and other things.

Would have been useful to have a wardrobe or some drawers for clothes, but I realise this may be impractical in the room we had. Otherwise everything was fine.

The warmth and welcoming of the staff. Yannick, the host, welcomed us as if we were his friends visiting his house. Reda gave us tips on how to use Maps.Me and where to find places of interest and restaurants. Breakfast was great. Bed and pillows are very comfortable. Our room is with plenty of space. The riad is very close to Ben Youssef madersa and the Jardin Secret. The riad is like a place of retreat from all the noises of the market. It’s very quiet and we didn’t hear anything from the outside except for birds and calls to prayer.

It’s a bit of a journey to get to the riad as it’s deep in the Medina.
