A great place to stay, full of history. Great staff. A special thank you to Sandeep for arranging our car and driver Mr Khan who drove really well and made us feel safe in all the madness of the Jaipur roads.
The pool was cold so could not use

Close to major attractions and shopping areas. Customer service was excellent. The property has heritage charm and historic value. While the facilities are dated, they remain functional, usable and reasonably well maintained. Offers good mix of Indian and continental breakfast options.
Cold water shower tap has ’H’ for hot.

The heritage buildings and decor
It is very unkempt , unloved , dusty , musty , mouldy

Very Faded grandeur hints at a time when this hotel was a jewel. Staff are so friendly if not a little confused at times. Service is good and quick. Food I ate was ok.
Be warned if like me you are a veggie and a bit squeamish regarding animal slaughter look to the right as you drive up to the hotel (just after the roundabout) as there are a few open butcheries with goats and chickens waiting to be dispatched. The area is really scruffy. The hotel seems rather unloved and could do with a little love. My room was ok and clean but again falling a little apart. Bathrooms need an upgrade. Fruit offering at breakfast is dismal given there is a fruit market down the road selling many varieties. Hotel taxi price is really high compared to Uber.

Very lovely. An oasis in Jaipur. We only stayed one night and it was our first day in India. A very good and easy way to start. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Our room was beautiful.

Fabulous heritage building in great location. Walking into the grounds of Hotel Bissau Palace was a welcome retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city.

This was our second visit to Jaipur, and having become accustomed to heritage hotels in India, we chose Bissau Palace for its beauty and history. Built in the 19th century, the palace truly lives up to its reputation—the photos are an accurate representation of the property.
We received a very warm welcome on arrival. While the area outside can feel a little chaotic, once inside the palace grounds you are instantly transported back in time. We booked a Royal Chamber, which was magnificent—an incredibly large ground-floor room with a huge, very comfortable bed. The bathroom was also spacious, with plenty of hot water. The water pressure was a bit “heritage-style,” but perfectly acceptable.
Housekeeping was carried out daily, and all staff were professional, attentive, and genuinely looked after us throughout our stay. Breakfast was good, with a nice selection of both Indian and Western options. We also dined several times at the restaurant in the evenings, and the menu and food quality were excellent.
There are plenty of places to relax, both indoors and outdoors, adding to the charm and atmosphere of the palace. We honestly couldn’t fault our stay at Bissau Palace and would highly recommend it for a memorable visit to Jaipur. Transport around the city is easy, and there is also an airport transfer service available if needed.
Thank you to everyone at Bissau Palace for a truly lovely stay
Isn’t really anything to dislike about the property

Best decision ever staying at Hotel Bissau Palace. It's in the Muslim area (has mosque), so halal food was easy to find, and the bazaar is just a short walk away with cheaper shops compared to the Hawa Mahal area. Loved the deco interiors, with beautiful Rajasthani frescoes throughout.
Swimming pool should be cleaner.

This is a quaint Hotel in a bustling busy part of Jaipur, albeit when you get through the front gate you are in a sea of tranquil calmness.
The staff could not have been more helpful and the food and choice of food in the restaurant were excellent.
Being the cool season in Jaipur the room was not warm, albeit the bedding compensated for that

Breakfast was ok but lacking, but for the price can't complain.

The food was just amazing - great chef and an excellent selection of choices. We were happy with the facilities as well and set in large grounds we enjoyed walking around within the gates. Staff were always happy to help.
The hotel is set outside the city walls in a crowded, busy locality with heavy traffic - best to avoid walking and take a cab instead which the hotel will arrange.

Amazing place to stay! Fantastic rooms and a fun hotel with lots of space and plenty of hidden corners to loose yourself in. Very good location for exploring the city or just staying in the grounds. Great hidden roof terrace too.
It was all lovely.

A charming historical building packed with interesting features. Staff were helpful and friendly.
Bathroom facilities poor and in urgent need of full upgrade, hotel is in a very filthy market area with no choice for dining elsewhere, also very near to a mosque so you will be woken around 5.30am

The hotel is so beautifull we loved the rooms and the breakfast area .
Really nice staff in the kitchen willing to help with anything.
The lobby staff MR Singh the old guy who was the daytime person at lobby very respectfull and help us to get tuk tuks and change money for us and gave us informations. And the night shift guy also named SINGH but young men was also suprr nice with us and helps us a lot.
Location is in the middle of a wholesale market wich is a bit noisy in the mornings but for 2 3 days didnt matter cse we were out all the time and had confortable beds so slept well.
Worth the money for sure. Nice experience . I would stay there again next time. ❣️
The shower water was not super strong but was nice and hot.

The serene atmosphere in the day amidst the great hospitality from staff. Witnessing the vibrant and quaint surrounding created using dim lighting in lawn area, deck and the entrance was a delightful experience away from the hustle and bustle of town. A rich culinary experience with dishes being served from the kitchen. We loved especially the dish of lal maas in the afternoon which is a Rajasthani heritage dish and ordered the Bissau special bhuna murg and fish tikka for the dinner which was very delicious. We would definitely visit the place again as it was a delightful retreat for us during the late November months.
We had made a request for early checkin which could not be met by the staff.

Absolutely amazing stay! Such a beautiful hotel/palace, very grand and wonderful history. The frescos are stunning and the families heoooms displayed, it really felt like stepping back in time and our rooms were very regal! Refreshing pool. We stayed in many palaces and Havelli’s in Rajasthan but this one really was the best. Great value for money and the staff were lovely. Overall 5 stars!

Meals were excellent, and staff attentive ! Room was large, and bed very comfortable (always good to get a good nights sleep!). Shower was just right, nice hot water too !! Hussain our taxi driver, (perhaps on the hotel's favoured taxi driver 'list'?), was just the right combination of 'getting it right', and not pushing us here and there ! We have been to Jaipur many times , and we (generally) knew, where we wanted to go !! All-in-all, just what we wanted !!!
Usual pollution, and terrible traffic (in the town), just seems to have got really bad nowadays !

Beautiful, authentic Indian-style hotel with a lovely atmosphere. The breakfast and evening menus were both excellent, with plenty of choice and great quality. We also organised a day of sightseeing through the hotel, which was brilliant and really well arranged.
However, we also booked a street food tour (recommended by the hotel) which cost 5000 INR — very expensive for what it was. We only received one samosa, a chai tea, a mango lassi and an ice cream. We even saw the samosas being bought for 50 INR, and there was very little actual street food or explanation during the tour.
When we returned, we explained to the hotel that we didn’t feel it was worth the full amount and were happy to pay what we thought was fair. Unfortunately, the manager argued with us and even came to our room after 9pm to ask for payment, which was uncomfortable and disappointing.
This was the only downside to an otherwise lovely stay.

The food was great, the staff were welcoming and friendly.
2 little shops on site were good.
To see all the art and memorabilia in the hotel was very interesting.
The availability of tours and taxis direct from the hotel.
The rooms were a bit outdated, in need of some modernisation and the pool and pool area was also in need of attention.

It’s a small traditional haveli - the palace of the ruler of Jhunjhunu. Has beautiful murals, and the sitting and dining areas in particular are delightful. The paintings, glass walls and ceilings, the library, photographs and royal memorabilia can keep one engaged.
The food is excellent- the gatta curry, Lal Maas, pithod ki sabzi, papad ki sabzi, katha - all traditional Rajasthani dishes- were really a treat.
The shelves were a little dusty, as were the room corners or behind the furniture. For an asthmatic like me that was a problem.
There was no arrangement for drivers.
The telephone was not working.

The main building was beautiful however run down ( good if you could look at it sightseeing)
The staff were lovely and the dinner was good
The room was more of a guest house type of accommodation and not very comfortable
The staff offered to move us as our AC didnt work and it was incredibly noisy (we all needed earplugs) but we decided to leave early
The whole property needs restoring

This is one of the best hotels I have stayed in! Like travelling back in time- the common areas, library, lounge and dining area are beautifully restored, and some lovely gardens to the front, swimming pool to the back. The staff were lovely and helpful. The restaurant is excellent, we usually don't like to eat in the same place but had three meals here, there is a wide choice of Rajathani and Indian food. The breakfast was also really good. Excellent value for money- a great choice to stay

Everything was incredible! The historic paintings and books, the decor, the service, the room with a footbath.. food was amazing too, such a beautiful building with so much character and charm.
The staff were amazing, and the owner of the gift shop Mukesh went above and beyond with his kindness and service.. helped us with recommendations for the rest of our trip in India
Everything was perfect.

The hotel is central for all Jaipur activities.
The hotel has a great deal of history and is beautifully decorated with historic murals. The staff were brilliant, so kind and helpful!
We ate at the restaurant once and enjoyed the food.
The Internet coverage was a bit patchy.

We loved the palace itself and its beautiful architecture and paintings. All rooms are hand painted with old 4 poster beds and very spacious. There’s tea and coffee facilities. It’s a peaceful haven in chaotic Jaipur.
We all found some of the bathrooms outdated with very old taps and showers which is a shame.
Some rooms had a musty humid smell.
The pool also needs some maintenance work.
9.0 / 10.0
We loved the old world charm of this hotel. The building is like stepping back in time. It provides a peaceful oasis in the hubbub of Jaipur, whilst being very centrally located. The bedroom suites are huge.
The food in the restaurant is delicious, we would highly recommend eating in the hotel.
The staff went above and beyond to meet our needs. My daughter had her birthday at the hotel. The staff decorated our table, made her a cake, fired a confetti cannon and organised a puppet show after dinner. A birthday that will always be remembered.
They also organised our taxi to our next destination, at a good price.
The shower in our room did not always work, so we used the shower in our children's room, or the one at the swimming pool.
