    This is a unique property in the heart of the old town. That has its pluses and minuses. On the positive side, this is a historic property that has been with the same extended family for approximately seven generations. Gyatri who runs the place is extremely gracious and helpful. The rooms have character and old world charm. The roof deck is a fabulous place to have a drink and watch all of the kites flying over the old town. The food served at breakfast is pretty basic. The meals served in the evening, should you choose to do the family style dinner are authentic and delicious. You do need to know that being in the heart of the old city, there is a lot of chaos outside the front door of the Haveli, with a constant cacophony of beeping horns, wandering cows and surging Tuk Tuk’s. We appreciated that this gave us a Birdseye view of real Indian life. Thankfully , it is quite peaceful inside the compound, and the bedrooms are very quiet at night as they face into the interior of the compound. If you choose to eat out or go anywhere you will have to hop in a taxi or Tuk Tuk as there are no restaurants other than street food nearby, and the neighborhood, while very interesting is quite dirty and noisy. It is, however, close to most of the best sites, which are often a short, Tuk Tuk ride away. All in all, I would certainly recommend Khatu for those looking for a more authentic experience than staying in a modern or chain hotel. If neighbourhood cleanliness and modern amenities is more your thing, then I would consider looking elsewhere.

    Spotlessly clean & comfortable, a heritage oasis in the bustle of the city, wonderful home cooking, & all the help you need to make the most of you stay. The hosts treat every guest like family - our best experience in India. Highly recommended

    We returned to Jaipur 7 years after our first stay and found the haveli, its owners, and the staff just as charming as before. The rooftop view remains breathtaking and the atmosphere at sunset with what seems like the whole city on their rooftops flying kites is something which cant be described. If you come to Jaipur, stay here!

    Khatu Haveli is a wonderful example of a Heritage property full of character and authenticity. Sushman looks after her quests on a personal basis and Minash looks after the staff who are very helpful
