I was eating food we bought from the restaurant. I had my own water but was asked to not drink it unless I brought it from the restaurant. Its just water mate. I literally got it from a mountain I just climbed. I wouldn't be pressed but the way the man spoke was quite rude. In general the hotel staff where ammazing

A nice location and venue but felt ripped off by unexpected additional charges incurred.

Great location.

There was some confusion around the number of guest. We booked 2 rooms for 2 couples. There was an email showing each. The rooms had a double bed but we were advised that we had only booked for one person per room and were required to pay an additional CHF 100 (including breakfast) per person per night. A look at the differences in cost of one or two persons per room on the Booking.com website reflects that we were very heavily penalised. As it was a busy time of year and we were unlikely to obtain other accommodation at short notice we were forced to pay this additional costs. On arrival home, I sent a copy of the email showing the confirmation of 2 persons per room and a total of 4 person. My emails have been ignored. BEWARE - ensure that number of people per room is correct or you will be charged a highly inflated rate for the second person in the room. As advised by a local Grindelwald resident - tourists in Grindelwald are cannon fodder

Apartment in Hotel Grounds.

Convenient to have the chalet situated within the hotel grounds. Ideally sited to take advantage of everything Kandersteg has to offer. And no distance from the railway station.

Kitchen facilities limited - small fridge and cooker only had 2 hot plates.

beautiful chalet - amazing location, peaceful and serene surrounding with waterfalls sounds

the location was fab the area of the apartment was good - not very spacious but not very crowded too the sound of the waterfall added to the beauty supermarket was just 60m away

car park was not free the instructions for leaving the chalet were very strict including dumping the garbage and leaving the apartment broom cleaned the wifi was not working for some time

Kandersteg is an excellent location but I will stay somewhere else next time.

The location of the hotel is perfect, very close to the train station and walking distance to the blue lake and various trails out of season.

This property is advertised as a wellness centre on booking.com but the pool is €15 per entry or €70 for the week, the sauna is €30 per session. So we didn't make use of the facilities. The restaurant although excellent, is very expensive. The morning we left the waitress on duty that day was rude.

Great location to stay in order to visit oeschinensee via cable car.

Great location. Parking nearby. Excellent staff. The rooms are very comfortable. The kitchen is small, but very functional. Check in and check out very easy! There's a 2 car EV charger very close to hotel, but it's usually busy.

beautiful 3 night chalet summer stay

I liked the location to the train station, the town, and to the trails that Kandersteg have to offer

there’s nothing I didn’t like. perhaps the dirty little pool in view beneath my balcony. def could easily be maintenances and then maintained to be nice. also all the junk outside the shed also outside the balcony at this pool.

Great for a big family, not recommended for a couple

We rented a vacation apartment which was conveniently on the ground floor near the river, which is also getting if you have a dog. It had all basic features for a pleasant stay. Location was great.

We booked initially for 9 nights but left earlier because in the apartment you could hear every neighbor above or next to you. Every scream or loud voice could be heard immediately, so if you are looking for a quiet and relaxing place, that’s not it because kids were running or crying non stop. Apparently basic soap was considered a luxury because the receptionist told us that we have to buy it ourselves (first time i see this in a hotel in 15 years of traveling)! We had to pay extra for a sauna and hammam, which were hardly renovated in the past 10 years.

Ok wenn man den ganzen Tag unterwegs ist und nur zum Schlafen da ist.

Ist sehr zentral gelegen. Ich denke die Unterkunft ist besser für den Sommer geeignet.

Betten und Kissen waren sehr hart. Es roch irgendwie modrig/schimmlig in der Unterkunft. Küche ist eher spärlich eingerichtet. Die Unterkunft hatte 6 Betten. Wir waren zu dritt und das war grad ideal. Für diesen Preis dürfte man aus meiner Sicht die Unterkunft etwas sanieren.

Sehr hellhörig und unmöglicher Umgang mit Gästen

Die Lage war relativ gut, da man von dort schnell bei der Gondelstation ist, die zum Oeschinensee fährt.

Die Ferienwohnung war sehr hellhörig, sodass ich nachts kaum schlafen konnte. Die Wohnung ist aus meiner Sicht sehr ungemütlich, man fühlte sich eher wie in einem Motel. Die Matratze war hart und unbequem. Am schlimmsten fand ich aber den Umgangston mit mir als Gast: Vor dem Einchecken hatte ein junger Mitarbeiter der Rezeption für mich einen Parkplatz direkt neben der Terrasse des Alpen Chalet mit einem Stuhl frei gehalten (ich hatte erst ausserhalb geparkt, da ich nichts im Ort finden konnte). Ich holte dann mein Auto und parkte dort. Ich ging natürlich davon aus, dass der Parkplatz zum Alpen Chalet gehört. Am nächsten Tag hatte ich jedoch einen "Drohzettel" am Auto - und zwar vom Alpen Chalet (!): Entweder ich zahle sofort 40 CHF oder man stellt einen Strafantrag und ich müsse 300 CHF zahlen. Ich ging sofort rein und fragte, ob es ein Missverständnis sei? Ich sagte, ich sei Gast im Chalet und man habe mir den Parkplatz zugewiesen. Der ältere Besitzer/Geschäftsleiter (da er sich mir nicht vorstellte, ist mir seine genaue Funktion unbekannt) des Chalet wiederholte seine Drohung - und ich zahlte die 40 CHF. Ich sagte, ich sei entsetzt über einen solchen Umgang mit Gästen. Normalerweise spricht man zunächst mit Gästen und verteilt keine Drohbriefe. Angesichts eines solchen Umgangs mit mir als Gast und der Tatsache, dass ich dort sowieso schlecht geschlafen habe, verliess ich am selben Abend vorzeitig das Hotel. Ich habe für 2 Übernachtungen (wobei nur eine stattfand) über 400 CHF bezahlt - plus die Strafe von 40 CHF.
