Spacious apartment in excellent location

Three bedrooms was great for four adults - plus a family room and kitchen makes it very spacious. Washer is available. Location was great. Walked to gondola for lake hike and about one hour drive to Lauterbrunnen. Also, the apartment is essentially in town yet slightly removed so it's quiet. Restaurants and grocery stores are easily accessible. Kitchen is well stocked. Communication with host is efficient and easy.

Shower head is a bit loose, and the shower curtain doesn't quite protect enough so we managed to get bathroom wet a few times. Access is by stairs - only an issue if you have mobility issues. Two parking spaces are available but one night both were taken.

The apartment having only one bathroom and the beds not comfortable and the pillows so small and not comfortable , also noise coming from the above floor which the sound seems like walking with you , the laundry is sharing with other apartments so you need to go out side to use laundry room

A little confusion about where to park but that was because we arrived in the dark and winter time. Owners were communicative and helpful helping us figure that out.

Everything was clean, perfect location, comfortable bed. The kitchen was perfect.

The bed was very squeaky, maybe because the bed frame is old, to keep the vintage look. And you can hear everything from upstairs.

Great place to stay in central Kandersteg!

Great location in the centre of the village, easy access to the apartment, comfortable furnishings and well equipped

Only minor issue was being close to the church means bells are heard throughout the day - not bad if you are out all day and completely out of control of the owners!!

Nice visit albeit expensive!

We arrived late and it was hard to find the keys in the dark. The floors were incredibly creaky from upstairs, you're in a basement and it feels like it! By no means our first visit to Switzerland but none the less everything is still incredibly expensive comparatively even to France and Italy either side.

Apartment was well located in a peaceful place with good access to everything required. Modern well equipped kitchen. Comfortable living area.

Ground floor means just below street level, with net curtains could be a little dark inside.

A property with a nice location

We knew it was a basement area converted into an apartment space and were pleasantly surprised to see how efficiently it was planned. We didn't expect any view from the window. We were aware this didn't come with a balcony or external sitting area. It is a basement afterall . So no heartbreaks there. The rooms are big , well maintained and clean. The kitchen is huge for a holiday apartment. The location is prime. Absolutely center of the town besides the church. The check-in and check out is hassle free as well.

It is a chalet and thus some creaking is unavoidable. But every time the guests returned to the floors above , we knew cos it creaked and how! Sometimes that was 10 pm or later even. Not advisable for light sleepers and more so for little children. Can be a little unnerving as it seems like a person walking in your own apartment. The beds are definitely a bit too hard. ( I thought the other reviewers were exaggerating. But it is true. Took us a couple of nights to adjust. And then it wasn't a problem anymore) On the last full day of our stay , we decided to have a late start at about 11.00 am. As we were getting ready around 10.15 am( with no one in the bathroom ) there came a loud gurgling noise through the bathroom drainage pipes. We thought it was funny until it was too stinky to stay indoors , because the ventilation was crap. There was this horrible sulfuric stench that filled the whole apartment. That is when you feel that this is really the basement you are paying your money for. I don't know if it is a daily occurrence around that time or if we were just really unlucky to experience the odour. And so I am not taking off too many points off the rating as a benefit of the doubt. I would definitely choose the other floors over the basement if we choose to holiday in Kandersteg again.

Fantastic traditional chalet

The apartment is spacious. The kitchen is big enough for more than one person to cook at a time. It's great to have a large entry hall for boots and packs. The location is great--just a couple minutes walk from the train station. Kandersteg is beautiful. There is a great view out every window.

The floors are old and creaky so you can hear the upstairs neighbors walking around and we were probably disturbing the downstairs neighbors.

Kandersteg ist nicht so überlaufen und bodenständig.

Uns gefällt die zentrale Lage neben der Kirche. Nah an den Loipen, nah an der Schlittelbahn, alles ist einfach und unkompliziert erreichbar. Zudem ist der ruhige Garten mit Schaukel einfach toll! Der Blick auf das Schwimmbad vom Hotel, die Stimmung, die Ruhe...wir geniessen es jedes Jahr auf Neue!

Der Kandersteger Volkslauf. An diesem Tag sind mir persönlich definitiv viel zu viele Menschen unterwegs und ich komme nicht nach Kandersteg aufgrund eines Events, sondern im Gegenteil, um Ruhe und Muse zu finden. Am Tag darauf war es einfach herrlich :-) alle waren weg und wir waren gefühlt alleine!

Gute Lage in einem schönen Chalet, hübsch eingereichtet, nette zuvorkommende Gastgeberin. Jederzeit wieder:)

Der Weg zur Wohnung war sehr vereist. Das scheint aber ein Thema der Gemeinde zu sein, die da ihre Verantwortung nicht wahrnimmt und wegen schönem Ortsbild die Wege nicht räumt. Bei Schnee wäre das ja auch in Ordnung bei Eisflächen einfach nur verantwortungslos gegenüber den Gästen und gefährlich. Ich weiss ehrlich gesagt nicht wie ältere Menschen sich auf diesen Wegen sicher fortbewegen sollten.

Super séjour entre amis

Le chalet est idéalement localisé au centre du village. Propre, joliment décoré et bien équipé, les chambres sont confortables. Tout est réuni pour passer un agréable séjour en famille ou entre amis.

Nous n’avons pas immédiatement identifié où nous pouvions nous garer mais les propriétaires sont très réactifs et nous ont apporté réponse rapidement.
