The location is just perfect. Short walk into town. Quiet and away from the hustle of Pitlochry. Loved the room and the decor and view from the window. Having the snacks at the top of the stairs was a treat.

We were a little disappointed not to have the fire on. I chose this place for the fire place in the lounge and it advertised this and the fire pit outside for star gazing in things to do . I asked about putting the fire on when it did get below 10 degrees at night and was told it wasn’t cold enough. I visited a few other places for lunches and they had the fire going. Also, the staff were not overly friendly and helpful. They were not rude, just not warm and, personal or helpful as we walked past. The last thing was the food at the restaurant. For the prices, I was disappointed with the quality of the food,. It would also be better if you could just order a main and not have to have a 2 or 3 course menu.

The actual hotel was lovely and inviting. As our room was not ready on arrival, we were given complimentary drinks from the bar. It was a last minute booking for them and was understandable.

I had booked a mansion suite room. We were given a coach house cottage which although was a good standard wasn’t what we booked and paid for.
