Excellent stay and exceeded expectations!

I was slightly unsure about this accommodation as it was a 'hostel' but we were very impressed as it was effectively a hotel with a great room, good breakfast, a friendly chap on the Front Desk gave us some great tips, and ultimately we saved money from our original expensive hotel.

Nothing really, it’s just slightly far (about an 8-10 minute walk to the nearest bus / tram). It’s not the most inconvenient though, very manageable.

Good self sufficient place

Breakfast was great. The lady who was there in the evenings in the weekend was very helpful. Great parking facilities, The shared kitchen was great

My bed could have been more comfortable- the other beds in the room were comfortable. The shared kitchen could be supplied with common cooking ingredients like Salt,, pepper - even the shakers could have been good. Oil, sugar would also help. More medium size saucepans could help too

Old hospital used as a hostel, not a hotel!

Free parking and cold beer for sale at reception.

To manage expectations better, it should be made more clear at the Booking.com page that this is a former hospital used as a hostel. It is clearly not a hotel! Although you pay a hotel price. No value for money.

No frills fun for all the family

Good location, parking, pleasant walk down the river into town, friendly and efficient staff, clean and comfortable bedding, quiet, big windows which opened to let in fresh air, good choice at breakfast.

Our room was mostly clean except for the toilet which looked as though it had not been scrubbed properly for some time. The breakfast rooms were very busy and noisy, even though we tried to avoid the peak time.

The staff was very unpolite, the room was horrible, the bed smelled like pee, so we couldn't sleep. The breakfast was bad again, there was also a bad smell in the dining room, so I could hardly eat.

Relatively inexpensive stay in Salzburg

Breakfast buffet included for all, starting from 6am weekday. Relatively affordable room in Salzburg. Towels and soap included. Bikes for hire (although I didn't try it). Next to river for running/cycling.

It's 20 mins walk away from Salzburg hbf, and is even further away (40 mins walk) from the main attractions. The room is student-dorm like so please don't expect hotel style comfort.

Pleasant

The location is good. Staff friendly. The hotel is comfortable and has most things one needs. I would definitely ask for a quiet room...there must be some.

It is a very noisy place! Inside and outside ( from early in the morning til fairly late at night). People shouting and doors banging. It's more suited to students than families, although I imagine there are quieter rooms. Ours was over the entrance...people talking on the steps very loudly. I think perhaps reception should be aware of this and give families quite rooms. In this case I would recommend it.
