After staying in quite a few hotels across Düsseldorf, I wasn't expecting to be impressed. But INNSiDE by Meliá Düsseldorf Derendorf managed to surprise me in several ways. Let's start with what stood out the most—the cleanliness. The room was genuinely spotless. In fact, I'd go as far as saying it was cleaner than many stays I've had at well-known chains like Holiday Inn, Radisson, and Hyatt in Düsseldorf. If you're someone who notices the little details, you'll probably appreciate the effort the housekeeping team puts in. The bathroom was another highlight. The shower had excellent water pressure (always a win after a long day), and I absolutely loved that the toilet was in a separate room. It's one of those small design choices that makes sharing a room much more comfortable. The hotel also provided bathrobes and slippers, which was a nice touch. Personally, I don't usually use hotel slippers or robes for hygiene reasons, so they weren't essential for me, but it's still a thoughtful extra that many guests will appreciate. Another pleasant surprise was the complimentary minibar. It included two bottles of Fassbrause and one Apfelschorle, which was a nice little perk. Free is always better than overpriced minibar snacks! Check-in couldn't have gone any smoother. The gentleman at reception was genuinely polite, welcoming, and professional, setting a positive tone right from the start. The hotel itself is well-equipped with two elevators, an in-house restaurant for lunch or dinner, breakfast service, as well as a gym and sauna. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time to try the fitness or wellness facilities, but it's nice knowing they're available.
The air conditioning technically worked... but not in the way I'd hoped. Instead of cooling the room, it mostly seemed to circulate air at roughly room temperature. That said, I have to admit this has been my experience with many hotels across Europe. If you've spent time in Asia, you'll probably understand the comparison. Asian hotels have completely spoiled me—their hospitality, amenities, and especially their powerful air conditioning are on another level. European hotels still have some catching up to do in that department. The hotel advertises soundproof rooms, but I wouldn't rely on that claim. I could clearly hear the neighbours enjoying their evening a bit too enthusiastically, so light sleepers may want to pack earplugs just in case. Finally, the bed. It was wonderfully large with plenty of space to stretch out, but unfortunately, it leaned far too much toward the firm side for my liking. If you enjoy a softer mattress, you may wake up feeling less refreshed than expected.

Great room, spacious and clean, superbly located hotel, in house parking garage. 5 mins from the airport.
The hotel atmosphere is a bit clinical and cold. They could do some upgrades to change this

Great location.
I was a little disappointed with the parking situation. I paid for parking, I went out to a concert and when we came back there was no parking available. You will think that a paid parking reservation will guarantee a space. Needless to say I had to park outside. Which defeats the purpose of paying for garage parking.

Bathroom in the room has no privacy at all. Ac not working. Carpet on the room not very clean. Breakfast buffet minimum selection of food
