A lovely, comfortable old hotel and beautiful garden

A beautiful hotel , delightfully furnished and decorated, with a lovely old garden. Location was very convenient to the city walls. The lady who greeted us was very kind, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great- excellent coffee!!

The hotel and the hotel room had a charming rustic style, and the location is very convenient -close to the city ramparts and a 10 min walk from Avignon Centre train station. The bed was also quite comfortable.

A skincare product I left on the desk in the morning vanished by the time I returned - oddly, the half-empty paper cup of water that had sat next to it was untouched. After thoroughly searching my room and luggage, it was clear to me the item had likely been taken by housekeeping, or, less likely, carelessly discarded. When I raised this with the hotel, their response was unsatisfactory and they accepted no accountability and offered no reimbursement - they advised me to search the room again (as if I had not already done so, repeatedly, before flagging this up) and insisted it had not been stolen. The room also lacked standard amenities - no kettle, no hairdryer despite being advertised, and walls that were quite thin- I was woken more than once by the vibration of a neighbour’s phone alarm and could also sense the footsteps of my neighbours in the room directly above. You could also hear noise from the street outside. It was also quite dark inside the room, even with all the lights switched on.

A peaceful Provençal haven just steps from the heart of Avignon - we’d come back in a heartbeat.

We absolutely loved our stay at this charming hotel in Avignon. Despite arriving during the busy arts festival and a period of intense summer heat, everything was calm, cool, and welcoming. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with fully functioning air-conditioning which was a real blessing! While the bathroom was quite small, it didn’t bother us at all. The main house was beautifully decorated with a true Provençal flair, and the staff couldn’t have been kinder. They were always available, warmly patient with our school-level French, and helped with everything from storing luggage to putting items in the fridge. The location was also ideal, walking distance from both the train station and the city centre, yet tucked just far enough away from the bustle to feel peaceful.

Honestly, there’s very little we’d change. If we had to mention one thing, perhaps the room décor could have had a touch more charm to match the rest of the property, but even that felt minor. The garden, where breakfast is served, was a lovely bonus and added to the homely, relaxed atmosphere. Everything worked as it should, the shower, air-conditioning, and facilities were reliable and clean. The ease of access to Avignon’s magical streets and festival scene made our stay even more special.

Quiet hotel with a nice garden and breakfast

The hotel rooms all have air conditioning. The staff are very nice and willing to speak English with you even if they won’t admit to being fine speakers of English. The breakfast buffet offered is very basic but nicely arranged and a good value. It was enjoyable to be in the garden while having some coffee and pastries. The hotel is outside of the walls of Avignon but is a short walk away from the main city center area. The location is relatively quiet and calm.

The parking can be tight and one might have an issue with the parallel parking that is required on the street. I believe private parking is an extra cost.

Location. The lady on the day of our arrival was very nice and helpful.

Poor conditions for the price. The garden is sold as a visit card and was absolutely not maintained. Breakfast was expensive and not exceptional.

Hotel Jardin has very friendly staff and management who all do their best to make your stay very comfortable. Rooms are simple but have all you need. The location is very central, near the historic part of Avignon but also close to the train station and access roads

I didn’t use the wifi so didn’t ask. We only stayed one night but the lady who worked there was really lovely and very helpful. She booked us in at a great restaurant as other places were full and the breakfast was a really great buffet that we didn’t expect. Couldn’t be happier!

Cannot be classified as a hotel, but rather hostel-type operation for backpackers without expectatio

Breakfast was good.

Tired old, unpainted building; dark corridors, had to look for light switches in corridors at night, no elevators, unsecure feeling - no peepholes in doors, no safety latches on doors, not self-closing/locking doors, difficult parking, out of the way - long walk to downtown. Wanted to cancel after first night, but owner insisted on 48-hr cancellation policy , in effect keeping us hostage to this dive. TV could not be operated from the bed, but would have to get up to turn on/off; had to insist w/ owner to fix this - he did not see this to be a problem.

Very charming and lots of character.

This place was charmingly old school. Loved the friendly service, the character of the old building, taking breakfast in the garden.

It takes about 10 minutes to walk to the “heart” of Avignon. There’s nothing really close by. That said, it’s very peaceful. And easy to walk to anywhere, including the City Centre train station.

I felt like the staff were unnecessarily rude, even by French standards. Next time I'd stay at the Ibis around the corner, which is cheaper.

Adorable stay welcomed by its lovely staff

Quite accessible. Amazingly situated in walking distance to the train station. I like this old building with elegance and homely comfort. Wish I could come back here again in warm weather/ summer & enjoy the beautiful courtyard.

the room was nice enough and the man at the desk was friendly. A great location.

the room I had didn't have a proper shower - you had to sit in the bath and wave the shower head over you.. not ideal - also quite old suite, but passable. The internet was appalling.
