8 / 10Excellent·Oct 2026
Beautiful and spacious loft suite. Delicious food. Fantastic and picturesque setting.
Inconsistent WiFi. Lack of staff. Slow check-in. Electric blind didn’t work and nor did the gas fire. Some attention to detail required re: cleaning and we had a broken toilet seat.

It was understated and had a lovely laid back feel and was so relaxed. We loved that we could have our dog with us. We had a lovely dinner in the teepee.

Lovely setting and staff very good
Room seemed a little dated and didn’t seem quite enough staff when hosting a Saturday dinner service

Reception
Dining Room is too dark at night so the menu is unreadable. The Menu typeface is too small (pica) and in order to be able to order dinner we had to ask for a torch to see what was available. One of the prime factors of haute cuisine is presentation! The food was not what I would expect from a 5 Star hotel - I grew up with haute cuisine as my Mother was an examiner for the HCMT and also the teacher for Mary Berry at Bath. My Godmother owned Harcombe where young ladies were taught how to manage their anticipated future homes which meant knowing how to cook as well as entertain.
