Mistra Estates Villa The Vine

The house was beautiful, spacious and elegant with lovely old furniture. The highlight was the sunny balcony with perfect views to the nearby ancient city of Mistras on it’s rocky knoll and astonishing extensive views over the wider landscape. The house is located on the edge of the pleasant village of Pikoulianika with an excellent traditional restaurant. From here waymarked footpaths take you to Mistras and up into the hills. We would have liked more time to explore them. Yanis was very friendly and kindly left us bottles of their Mistras Estates olive oil. He met us in the village and took us to the villa. Don’t try to use the www.booking.com map, it was completely wrong!! We arrived to a very welcome roaring fire. It was cold and wet that day. Efharisto poli Yanis! We would love to come back again and find out more about the wildflowers in your olive groves, and how you manage them.

The only slight downside was the small bathroom where there was nowhere to put anything down and no heating (it was cold in early April).

Die Lage ist wunderbar, vor allem die Aussicht auf die Ebene von Sparta und die Burg von Mistras. Auch die Abgeschiedenheit des Hauses ist sehr angenehm, um auszuruhen bzw. in Ruhe zu lesen bzw. arbeiten. Es gibt einen Kamin und einen Kaminofen, die die Wohnung bei frischen Frühlingstemperaturen gemütlich macht. Vor allem im Frühjahr kann man auf den umliegenden Wiesen viele Kräuter und Tees sammeln.

Die Küche ist nicht wirklich so ausgestattet, dass man vernünftig kochen kann. Aber der Vermieter hat sich bemüht, dies zu verbessern. Das Bad bzw. die Toilette ist sehr klein und muffelt. Es gibt eine Klimaanlage, die zwar in der Wohnung wärmt (oder im Sommer kühlt), aber wenn sie an ist, kann man sich nicht auf dem Balkon aufhalten, denn sie ist sehr laut und das Kondenswasser fließt direkt unter den Tisch und die Stühle auf dem Balkon. Die kann man zwar etwas zur Seite rücken, aber der Lärm bleibt. Bei Wind kann man die Fensterläden nicht festmachen, so dass man sie entweder schließen und in einer dunklen Wohnung sitzt oder das Klappern derselben ertragen muss.

La vue est splendide, la maison à 5 minutes de Mistra. Accueil très gentil (merci pour l’huile d’olive!).

L'emplacement est idéal, avec la vue sur Mystra. La terrasse, l'environnement bucolique sont superbes. L'accueil de Yiannis très disponible. Merci pour la bouteille d'huile d'olive offerte gentiment ! La maison a du charme, on s'y sent comme en vacances dans une maison de famille. Il y a de la place.

La maison est assez rustique, les lits peu confortables, la cuisine pas très bien équipée... C'est vraiment une maison de campagne, avec à la fois son charme et ses inconvénients. Mais le rapport qualité prix reste tout à fait valable, car le lieux est très beau, et la vue magnifique.
