Beautiful surroundings

The house was extremely nice well equipped in beautiful surroundings nice to see chickens walking around freely and visiting us and we all slept well in comfortable beds.Reasonably close to the beautiful stourhead also.The lady helped us unload our luggage also.Very nice place to take my wife over valentines day.

There was a fridge but no freezer and I an airfryer would have been useful for quick snacks.

Highly recommended if your looking for somewhere to relax or explore the countryside

The property was lovely and set in such a beautiful location. The host was welcoming and we would have loved to have stayed longer. We used the property as a base to go to longleat but would love to go back and just spend some time relaxing and taking in the surroundings.

Spacious, well cared for cottage near the charming town of Tisbury

Well appointed, self-contained cottage on a busy stud farm. Lots of animals around. Very friendly hosts. Fantastic location. Quiet. Warm. Exceptionally well-equipped kitchen: unusually for a self-catering let the knives were sharp and saucepans good quality. Highly recommended. Half an hour's walk or ten minutes' drive to the Compasses pub in Lower Chicksgrove which we believe to be one of the best pubs in England. Look it up and go.

Lovely cottages on a beautiful farm in a wonderful landscape.

This was our second Christmas at Withyslade. We returned because we had had such a wonderful time in 2023. We have two cottages to accommodate our family members. This gives us lots of space. The cottages are very well equipped, lovely and spacious, warm and full of character. We really enjoy being on a farm. It's delightful to say hello to the horses, the sheep, the chickens and the guinea fowl. There's also lots of wild bird life. The location is really rural and this time we had glorious sunny, crisp and cold, weather which afforded us amazing views over the surrounding countryside. There are excellent places to eat, e.g. The Beckford Arms and The Compasses Inn, both just 10 mins drive. Helen, the host, is very welcoming and friendly. We highly recommend Withyslade Farm and will return at some time in the future, we hope.

Love it here

My 2nd stay here, I absolutely love it, the surroundings are beautiful, the cottage is perfect, everything you need, Helen is lovely 😊 love being able to see all the horses and the other farm animals that wander about. Will definitely be back for another stay

The location was stunning. The owner met us on arrival and showed us the property. Very good quality of everything in the property. If you like countryside and being close to animals chickens; goats; ducks; pigs and horses right on the doorstep. Magical

A cosy retreat surrounded by nature

Beautiful and comfortable accommodation in an idyllic setting surrounded by horses, sheep, pigs, goats, geese, ducks and very friendly chickens! A lovely wood burning stove with am ample supply of firewood kept the house toasty. A well supplied kitchen made self catering easy and tea, coffee and hot chocolate were all provided. Clean and comfortable beds and a lovey lounge to relax in. Helen was a welcoming host and we enjoyed walking over to meet several of the beautiful horses. All in all thoroughly recommended.

We loved the cottage, so much space and so comfortable. The farm setting was perfect and kept my child entertained watching all the different animals wander past the window.

Beautiful property, host was so warm and friendly. We had a wonderful stay. So great to wake up to nature and enjoyed seeing some of the animals around the farm. The wood burner was an amazing addition to our particular cottage and the logs left for us so appreciated. Kitchen was well equipped which was amazing too! Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again if in the area.

Family wedding

Excellent place to stay as a family group stayed there for the wedding of son. We were made to feel very welcome and our granddaughters loved being able to see and feed the animals

Horse lover heaven!

What’s not to like?! The hosts are the friendliest, most helpful and amenable people I’ve ever stayed with. The peace and quiet and tranquility is amazing. Horses and farm animals that you could engage with. This is a perfect place to unwind and de stress. We will definitely be back!

Lovely cottage and friendly staff.

The place had a lovely vibe. The cottage was clean and a great size for a weekend break for our little family. The staff were very friendly. Our toddler loved meeting all the animals on the farm.

Fabulous house, host and surroundings

The house is located in a beautiful countryside, surrounded lovely grasslands with horses. The place is very quiet and peaceful. Helen was always around and helped with with anything needed or suggestions. The house was super clean, spacious and had everything you could need. We stayed 3 nights with the kids and they loved being around with the animals. We hope to repeat again soon.

The location for Withyslade Farm is superb. It is a working horse farm, and there were lots of small farm animals wandering around...hens, goats, geese, pigs. We even had a lamb come through the front door one day to say hello. The owner- Helen is lovely. Very friendly and welcoming. Be prepared that you're not really within walking distance to other facilities -eg pub/shops. But only a short drive to Tisbury - 3mins

Our only criticism is lack of good WiFi. Not being able access social media wasn't an issue for us, but we were unable to book outings easily. Fortunately I had booked restaurant meals before we left home, but a couple of the gardens we visited wanted us to have booked ahead. We did discover the evening before we left that we could get reasonable 4g coverage upstairs in the bedroom. But it does seem the whole area isn't very well served

Absolutely stunning location with tame farm animals roaming around. Beautiful horses and foals. Very kind hosts who showed us around and were very friendly + helpful. The cottage was glorious and clean with everything you would need.

A wonderful, relaxing place to stay

Withyslade Farm is a wonderfully relaxing place to stay in the most beautiful surroundings with animals at your fingertips, literally! If you love the idea of seeing a goose, a chicken, a sheep, even a pony walk past your lounge window, then this is the place for you! And if, like us, you love horses, then this is the perfect staycay. Helen, the owner, is wonderful, friendly, knowledgeable and is more than happy to have you in her yard amidst the farm life. And nothing is too much trouble. The cottage was lovely and cosy as well as spacious and comfortable. And you have everything you need to make your stay easy and relaxing. As we were driving down the tree-lined drive on our departure, with horses in paddocks either side of us, we were already planning our next trip!!!

Absolutely delightful

Beautiful Peaceful location, gorgeous high ceilinged beamed rooms. Comfiest bed ever! We were greeted on our arrival and shown where to park. Then helped with our bags to our cottage. Felt like home straight away and didn't want to leave. Loved the free range animals and the friendly resident dog.

The perfect rural retreat for all the family.

A special and very peaceful location, perfect for animal loving guests of all ages. The kids loved exploring and making new friends with the pet dogs, pigs, chickens and sheep. A warm welcome and high quality accommodation with everything you need for a couple of nights or more. We also loved the very tasty eggs from the resident chickens for breakfast.

Peaceful country getaway!

Beautiful property set in such picturesque surroundings. There are beautiful horses everywhere as well as chickens and goats roaming about. The cottage itself was lovely, really comfortable and clean. It had everything we could have asked for! It’s so peaceful and relaxing. Helen was lovely and really accommodating. We will definitely stay again!

It was just as we’d hoped it would be. No Wi-Fi meant it was the perfect place to stop and unwind.

Helen was a great host. We were able to walk around the farm and meet the animals and Helen always had time to chat with the children when they asked questions or told her what we had been doing.

The bathroom could benefit with a deep clean but the kitchen was clean and the beds were comfortable.
