A special insider tip: At the monastery hotel, you can not only enjoy absolute peace and quiet, but also a great breakfast and very comfortable beds. We really enjoyed our time there and would love to come back.

Two-night stay for hiking, meditation and prayer

Excellent breakfast buffet. The dining room is spacious and relaxing. I stayed as a solo traveller in May and wanted to return with my wife. We hope to return again for the special atmosphere.

Hotel was great. Restaurant was very disappointing.

The room was clean and tasteful. The property was peaceful and well maintained. Excellent hiking right out the door. Really nice Honesty Bar in the lounge area.

We had dinner in the restaurant and the service was SO inattentive. The dining room was not busy. Only five tables occupied. Five staff members all stood by the kitchen door talking, most with their backs to the diners. We had dirty dishes and empty glasses in front of us for most of the meal. It felt like the young waitstaff wasn’t trained and/or supervised. Breakfast service wasn’t great either. Restaurant experience was 180 degrees opposite the hotel experience. Food was fine. Service just wasn’t there at all.

Excellent hotel for a restful holiday

Good breakfast. our room it was fantastic and the hotel was very restful. It is a converted monastery. There are no televisions in the hotel rooms. we didn’t find this a problem. The food was excellent at the restaurant and the hotel has its own micro brewery. The staff were excellent and very attentive. It is a lovely location in the country and has activities, such as an open-air play and it also put some musical events from time to time

Lovely room, food and place

Beautiful stopover on our way from France to Italy. After two days in Eurodisney, this was exactly what we needed. Peace and quiet. We had a junior suite for our family of four, and it was a big and spacious room. The kids also found the hotel interesting and exciting. The pilgrim-soup in the restaurant was really good. Would have loved to stay longer.

A perfect (and unique) experience!

Spacious rooms with all the modern features. The hotel is advertised as a seminar hotel and so comes equipped to a high standard. Food and drink (including the monastery’s own brewery) was excellent throughout. Overall staff friendliness and service was very good. Don’t miss the chance to join the monk’s prayers in one of the smaller chapels. A unique experience!

A simple, clean, and quiet stay in a special location

Kloster Fischingen is a peaceful and unique place to stay. The surroundings are quiet, and everything was clean and well-maintained. It was easy to check in late thanks to a key locker system, and the staff were friendly and welcoming.

The room was a bit noisy, which took away from the overall calm atmosphere. Breakfast was quite basic and could use a bit more variety.

We enjoyed our weekend stay. We are already planning for another family getaway in the Spring.

The place was perfect for a weekend getaway for the family. And while the room was spartan, it was quiet, comfortable, and clean. Also pleasantly surprised that the room had its own toilet and shower. The in house restaurant was the highlight of the trip. The staff was welcoming and accommodating, especially for our six-year old son. The menu was excellent.

Considering the fact that the place was a Benedictine abbey, we understood why there was no TV or room service. And while my wife was not happy with it, I was totally fine.

A unique hotel experience in german-speaking Switzerland

Picturesque location in a hilly Swiss German village. The historic hotel building is absolutely beautiful & has been lovingly maintained to a very high standard. The room was very generously sized with a very comfortable bed and top-quality bedding. The bathroom was a bit smaller than we would have liked but nevertheless perfectly function and clean! The buffet breakfast was very good with good quality bread, cheeses and cooked meats. It even has its own brewery! What was amazing was....how quiet & peaceful the rooms were......even when the bells were ringing!

Nice and quiet

Hotel is in a quiet, green spot. Very good breakfast, nice room. No tv in the room, which was actually nice for a change.

Bathroom is a glass 'box' in the room, not great if you are sharing the room (e.g. if you turn on the light in the bathroom in the dark it lights up the entire room).

Excellent and very calm stay

I rarely call the stay in the hotel exceptional, but it is one of those few cases when it certainly exceeded my expectations. The hotel is located in a very serene location and the whole stay was very calm. The building is beautiful and the rooms are comfortable and there was absolutely no noise. Also, the Wi-Fi worked very much better than in many Swiss hotels I visited. The breakfast and the restaurant menu are quite simple, but food is tasty and well-cooked. Overall, it is a perfect place for the calm retreat.

A nice stop for a Pilgrim

Impressive setting, original Benedictine monastery which has gone through a number of changes over the centuries and now functions as an exclusive seminar / training hotel. Room was simple but comfortable with a novel arrangement for the ensuite bathroom. Decent breakfast. There is an onsite brewery, still run by the monks making a range of beers of varying lethality, all under the brand name ‚Pilgrim‘

Beautiful hotel, but no park grounds to complete it.

Excellent breakfast, nice rooms, innovative way of adding a bathroom & toilet to rooms that didn´t originally have those facilities.

I had expected the hotel to have a park surrounding it, as it was quite green on the photos, and I assumed it was inside larger monastery grounds as other monastery hotels of this size often have them. But the hotel is right on the street, and there are no grounds to speak of. The only green is that whats on the photos.

Es war unser bestes Weihnachten seit Jahren.

Das Frühstück war klasse. Außerdem konnten wir abends aus liebevoll zusammengestellten Menüfolgen bzw. aus einer kleinen Speisekarte wählen. In diesem Restaurant über Weihnachten zu speisen, war ein absolutes Highlight. Das Kloster ist aufs Beste renoviert, Der Internetauftritt ist toll - dort zu sein, noch viel schöner. Kein Fernsehrer - keine Nachrichten: der beste Platz für eine Auszeit. Wer den Kontakt zur Außenwelt braucht, hat WLAN.

Eine sehr gute Übernachtung

Wunderschönes altes, großes Gebäude in idyllischer Umgebung, ein modernes Zimmer mit Klosterflair, lange Gänge, schöne alte Räume. Toll, dass man einfach so die alten Räume (z.B.Archiv) besichtigen kann. Prima Betten - wir haben selten so gut geschlafen!

Das Abendessen war für die Leistung zu teuer, dem Speisesaal fehlt etwas das Flair.
