Too rustic for us

Restaurant and staff were wonderful

The room assigned was very hot. We asked the manager abut AC he stated it a off for season. He said he would check the room while we were at dinner. The manager prepared a second room while we were at dinner. He offered the second room to us after dinner stating that the bathroom heater was broken. He had opened the windows in our second room to cool it down while we were at dinner. Upon going back to the second room we found bugs on the ceiling and removed them. We closed the windows, they had no screens and we kept finding more bugs, like stink bugs. We must have killed a dozen or so, We decided to leave. I cant sleep in a place that has any kind of insects. The manager tried to accommodate us but we were freaked out.

Great place to stay at!

Great place to stay at! Our room included a small garden that we really liked, especially since you could walk out into the big garden / pool area through a small green "labirinth". We loved the breakfast, restaurant, room, everything was great. Staff was INCREDIBLY polite and helpful at anytime of day / night. Train station is a short 20 minute walk away from the hotel, and from there only 15 minutes to Venice.

Not worth the cost

I thought the staff was great and the detail to pack me a breakfast bag was very kind. My meal at the restaurant was tasty.

The room: I stayed in room 501. It has very very old carpet (from the 80s old). The carpet has various stains and it was gross. The walls were so thin I could hear my neighbors whisper. I had to sleep with tv on to cancel some of the noise. The rooms in the picture have hardwood floors, not my room.

Location and it was very grand to look at - transfer into Venice

The pool area was a bit tired (decking). Restaurant food was low standard for the price of our stay and we were all badly bitten by mosquitoes and would have very much appreciated the option of eating indoors..

Very nice refurbished old villa with friendly and helpful staff. Outside of Venice but free shuttle from hotel in morning with return in the afternoon. Nice property to enjoy a cocktail outside.

Coffee at breakfast (Americano) was in a pump type flask and tasted like cheap instsnt coffee. If you wanted a Cappuccino or Expresso then they would do that on the Barrista machine, guessing that was better. Minor issue, but if you are a coffee drinker then you'll understand.

Charming hotel outside of Venice

Characterful hotel in a nice setting. Appreciated the pool after exploring Venice. Friendly & helpful staff. Complimentary bus shuttle into Venice. Comfortable room & liked our private outdoor garden which lead to the pool area.

Limited hot breakfast options (& no toast facility) Service at the pool was slow, although not the staff’s fault - just needs more of them. Drinks at the pool were expensive (double price of Venice) and food options limited. Would have been nice for a later return bus shuttle option to allow you to have dinner in Venice. Journey into Venice at least 45 minutes via public transport of either 2 buses or a decent walk & train.

The overall feel and vibra of the villa The assistant manager exceeds expectations

1. Having been delighted to eat at the restaurant before, this time in June it was disapointing. The chef was likely provisory or in trainning. Dinner took a disproportionately long time to be served between courses to the point that I lost my appetite between the starters and the main course. The starter a spaguetti vongole was sub par, oversalted. The untimely serving is not an exageration, I am not American. I hope they have redressed this and returned to their former glory. 2. The reception staff is a motley crew. One very competent black gentleman and the rest should be trained to an adequate standard.

Suitable retreat for three days near Venice

Our room didn’t have any WiFi They did upgrade us, however the superior room was in need of repair carpet had some black staining and the walls and decorations needed TLC As the hotel is somewhat isolated the restaurant needs some help While we were there their menu stayed the same and was very expensive The buffet breakfast was plentiful but lacked imagination and flexibility Things like cappuccino or poached egg were chargeable

Not great value for money

The art in the building is incredible and the grounds are nice, rooms are clean. The woman running the restaurant was very sweet and helpful but the rest of the staff weren’t great. She mentioned they were new so maybe some teething problems.

I had a bad check-in experience with the staff who were rude and unhelpful. The hotel has a nice courtyard with tables but you can’t eat dinner out there, which is a shame. The restaurant was drab and awkward. Not much atmosphere.

Location in spring is beautiful, peaceful, nature, very nice

amazing wheater, war, sunny, Easter weekend......was not possible to have breakfeast in terrace (not allowed....!); service people are neither well trained nor attentive, just doing their job. One and only positive surprise: Sra Bruna, nice, friendly.

Nice Pool. Very well kept hotel overall. Atmospheric and well restored. We had a lovely room on top floor overlooking the pool with a high roof and exposed beams. Train station is close, regular and cheap. Taxi will charge 35-50 EURO to get into Venice centre.

Dinner menu caters to very high end style dining only. Would have been nice to have some more of the traditional Italian dishes on offer. In saying that... you are very close to Venice and its endless choice so what are you waiting for?! :) Breakfast selection was poor. Staff were okay however, if you want something - ASK. Not very proactive.

Upon arrival we were immediately given such a warm welcome by Luca at reception, we knew then that we had chosen the right hotel. He was so helpful not only in ensuring we were comfortable with our room but also in answering our touristy questions about our trip to Venice.

beautiful property, excellent staff, excellent restaurant. However I had booked a deluxe double with garden & requested by phone 2 twin beds as I was travelling with a friend. I was assured this was done. When we checked in, we were shown to the room selected but the bed as a double and the room very small. Also the shutters were broken making it very dark.The front desk manager on duty Francesco was very kind to offer a free upgrade to a suite on the 2 nd floor but we had to wait a long time, very tiresome after a long road trip. The meal was excellent but quite pricey. Conclusion: there should be better monitoring of maintenance for a four star hotel in this price range.

I stayed only overnight between visiting Venice and flying out the next day. I only couldn't figure out the coffee machine and shower was splashing everywhere (the ceiling one), but overall excellent stay

Pleasant hotel. Quiet place, but very close to the highway. The menu in the restaurant was very short, but everything we tried was delicious. The free transfer to Venice is very good, but the last bus back at 18:00 is a bit early.

The room was a bit small and it was very cold, it was only warmed up in the morning.
