御宿行旅 雄中館

The hotel is beautiful clean and peaceful. Breakfast is yummy and snack bar is a catch! PaiZhung and her colleagues in the morning (10/16) were wonderful helping me find a lost jacket; while the evening receptionist (10/15) was not helpful and un-friendly.

Evening receptionist on October 15. Was not helpful

The property is an eight-minute walk from Kaohsiung Station. Plenty of dining options are nearby—from chain restaurants like McDonald's and KFC to small stalls. The hotel provides breakfast, 24/7 snacks, and laundry machines. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating.

The Wifi does not extend to the lobby area, so you would need to connect to your eSIM connection outside your room. The instructions in the laundry room do not match the buttons in the machine, leaving you to figure things out on your own unless a staff nearby intervenes.

biggest plus was the available 24/7 snack bar, excellent location a few meters walk to Kaohsiung Station and Huo Yin Shopping District, even Liuhe Nite Market is just a few blocks away from the hotel. impeccable rooms and courteous hotel staff. would like to come back but unfortunately, sold out for the next coming months! best accommodation ever!!

I wish I could have booked a longer stay and tried their other branches in other convenient locations since they have a total of 7 Royal Group Hotels scattered around Kaohsiung aside from their other motel branches.

Location is perfect

The payment process was tricky and not transparent. For credit card payment, I was charged 10% currency conversion fees without being asked beforehand (usually it’s obligatory to ask the payer if they would like to pay in local currency or home currency). However it seems to be a problem with their POS machine I think. The staff told me that there was no such step which is very weird and unfair. The staff tried to help me out but couldn’t refund the unwanted charges in the end.
