If you are in search of a beautiful, private home in south Palm Springs, Palmera is it! This home is located in quiet Tahquitz River Estates in south Palm Springs, walking distance to Chabad and South Palm Canyon restaurants and just a 5 minute drive to downtown shops and nightlife.
The living room has comfortable seating, a smart TV, and a modern glass rock gas fireplace. French doors open out to the rear outdoor living area and a wall of glass opens to a small private patio.
The kitchen comes equipped with everything you will need to prepare a gourmet meal. Viking Range, dishwasher, built in microwave, and refrigerator with filtered water and ice. There is a high top table with 6 stools which looks out to the pool through French doors on one side and a 32” inch TV on the opposite.
The primary suite boasts a king-sized bed, a 50” TV, and a small sitting area for reading or relaxing. The en-suite bath has a large white marble shower and an all marble dual vanity. In a nod to European design, the bathroom is open to the bedroom.
The second bedroom has a queen-sized bed, a 50” TV and a spacious sitting area with a sofa. The en-suite bath has a relaxing rain shower with access to both the pool and spa and single floating vanity.
The guest bedroom has a queen-sized bed and is equipped with a 37” TV, and a small desk and chair….perfect for focus time or office space. This bedroom utilizes the guest bathroom in the hallway which has a large shower with yellow marble and single vanity.
Step out to the beautiful outdoors where you can enjoy the gorgeous unobstructed mountain views and enjoy the outdoor kitchen with a large grill, burners, sinks, granite counters and an 8 person dining table and chairs. The outdoor living room includes a sofa and two chairs and an outdoor fireplace. Due to the city noise ordinance, the outside TV has been removed. The saltwater pool and spa both include a multi-color light system, an all-around bench, a waterfall, and an in-pool umbrella to stay cool. Take a break on the cozy poolside cabana with a 2-person bed.
RULES AND THINGS TO NOTE:
**Pool and spa heat are optional for $30-$80 per day. This fee is not included in the quoted price on some booking platforms and, if not, will be collected after you book.
**Minimum age for every guest is 25 unless accompanied by a parent. No groups larger than 6 (regardless of age) and no parties.
**Palm Springs has strict noise, occupancy, and parking rules, INCLUDING THAT NO MUSIC IS ALLOWED OUTSIDE AT ANY TIME. Violation of these rules will result in a $1000 fine and immediate eviction from the house with no refund.
**Included in your booking is an accidental damage waiver fee which applies to covered damage up to $2000. Rules and limits apply. See the rental contract for more information.
**On rentals of 28-nights or more renter is responsible for the entire gas and electric bill from check-in to check-out based on meter reads. A $3500 utility deposit will be collected after booking and will be applied to these bills. Any remaining balance will be refunded to you, however, you are responsible for any overages.
**The City of Palm Springs requires an additional written contract which you must sign after you book and requires that you send us a copy of your ID before you check in.

My review is a little different because there was a small issue with the house that we rented prior to our arrival. Lars contacted us immediately and gave us two other home options to pick from at no additional charge. They were extremely accommodating and very thorough. The home we eventually stayed in was beautiful as well and had everything that we needed. Thank you for the beautiful stay! Will contact them again on our next trip to Palm Springs!

House was very nice and comfortable. Pool and hot tub were great. Well-equipped kitchen. Very good location. Quiet street.However, it might not be the best location if you want some privacy. Two bathrooms have windows that look out to the backyard (no curtains). The other bathrooms is not walled off from the master bedroom -- it's all just basically one room. Another bedroom (off the living room) has just a sliding barn door.And the backyard could have used a little love before we got there. Tables were dirty; the lighter on the grill didn't work; random junk lying around.

There were four of us, all senior citizens, one with Parkinson's Disease, taking advantage of this location. We thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor backyard patio, covered areas as well as the swimming pool. The following comment is to address access in/out of the pool which is by stairs only. There is no handrail that our one friend could use to enter/exit the pool and had to rely on someone for his safety.
The inside rooms were well appointed and we loved having the Keurig machine (it got replaced as the one we found on day 1 was inoperable) to make easy cups of coffee for 4 people on the go at different times. Well stocked kitchen. (Again, following comment applies to us: we did not care for the shag rug under the kitchen table as it was a tripping hazard for seniors but likely won't affect other guests). We had some issues with plumbing and the Altamira Rental folks were stellar in trying to address our issues and for the most part, they succeeded. The location of the property in a quiet Neighbourhood was so relaxing. We could walk to different locations/stores and even walked into downtown Palm Springs on a few occasions during our 18 day stay.
The only real complaint we have is that the TV service (Direct TV I believe) was pretty pathetic in that we only received about six channels that were of interest to us - way too many shopping channels and other irrelevant content. A better subscription to another provider is warranted.
We truly did enjoy our stay at Palmera!
