Lovely apartment in a central location for the D-Day beaches

Well equipped, very comfortable and spacious. Quiet as well set back from the main road.. All the bedrooms were a good size with plenty of storage. Loved the nautical theme to the decoration with the colours and ornamentation. Everything was clean. The kitchen is small, which for us wasn't an issue but for a larger group might be a bit of a challenge. The patio is quite private despite being on the hosts property with lovely loungers , a bbq/large seating area and an additional small table and chairs. Very relaxing, set in very well maintained gardens with lovely planti A very short bike ride to the US cemetery and museum and good routes on quiet roads to visit memorials and museums along the coast as well as lovely villages more inland.

Wasn't really an issue for us as we have roaming on our phones but the WiFi would not let us connect at all.

Normandy is lovely and this Gite could also be, especially in this location, but it needs updating.

We liked the location as it was close to the WW2 attractions, Omaha beach, museums and cemetery etc. that we wanted to visit, also that it was situated in the countryside. We viewed it on google earth/maps and liked what we saw. We liked that it had space for our car to park in next to the property and also liked, on first inspection, the seaside decor. Finally we liked that it showed a sign on the door that it had achieved a 9.6 on booking.com.

The interior of the property was very dated. The score of 9.6 was in 2017, six years ago, and it was obvious that the owners had not continued with the upkeep of the interior since then. On close inspection it was dusty throughout and the fans in the toilet and bathroom did not work. There was not much thought given to any visitors or who did not speak or understand French staying at this property; no radio programs, TV programs, attraction leaflets, books etc. There were no soaps or toiletries available but luckily we brought our own. There was no washing up liquid so we were forced to use the dish washer for only a few items. We found that some of the cutlery and crockery still had dried on food and the glasses and cups still had stains and dried coffee/chocolate at the bottom of them. So these were washed in the dishwasher before we used them. The drainer on the sink was especially dirty. We had to ask for more toilet rolls as they had only left 1 roll for 2 people to use for a week! The settee was very uncomfortable as it had wooded slats under the seat cushions which meant that you slid down every time you sat on it, meaning that after a couple of seconds you were "sitting" on your back which was not comfortable.

Had trouble with the heating. No one available who spoke any English. Crockery very dated and lots of differant types. The premises needed some loving attention.

Big cottage with more than enough space for the four of us. Great location on walking distance from Overlord museum.

To go to the supermarket, you have to drive at least 15-20 min.

Excellent location for a visit to Omaha Beach and surrounding areas. Property had everything we needed for our visit and the host was lovely.

Omaha 20 minute walk, American Cemetary 15 minute walk, plus museum just over the road. Utah beach 30 minute drive, visit also St Mere Englaise, and the German Cemetery. Arromache and the Mulberry Harbour 25 minute drive. Bottle of cider on arrival and very welcoming owners who were on hand but gave us space to enjoy our holiday. Many thanks.

Well located spacious but quirky accommodation, slightly too much clutter

Excellent location. Spacious accommodation. Ample parking.

The Gite had too much clutter (for me). Cleaning it was almost impossible with so much to clean around. There was little personal outside space. All hard surfaced with no garden to sit in. Site around Gite was all graveled. The Gite owner insisting we paid for the accommodation in full, in cash, on arrival. There had been no prior warning from either the Gite owner or Booking.com that this was going to happen. This left us very 'short' for the next couple of days until we could get to a bank. The kitchen had very limited working surfaces and needs a complete rethink and update. I personally thought the kitchen could have been better located. It currently stands between the lounge/dining and the beds/bath creating a bottle neck. Better it sit mid lounge/diner to give clear access to beds/bath, or even the far end of lounge/diner might be better.

Emplacement idéal tout près d’Omaha Beach, du musée Overlord, du cimetière américain et même d’une cidrerie. Gîte propre, au calme, bien équipé et grand pour 4 personnes. Un accueil parfait avec cidre et cake offerts ! Merci !
