Acra Hotel Old City - Special Category

Location, dining hall amongst ancient walls.

No views to speak of, but fine

We had a brilliant stay at the Acra Hotel. I was with the family and the staff were extremely friendly, especially Younes, Sherif, Riba and Emre. The location is fantastic as it’s only 7-8 mins walk from Hagia Sophia and the blue mosque. Lots of restaurants etc around. A couple of the bazaars are also within walking distance. Overall an excellent stay.

Nothing, just had a bit of an old world charm

The location is very good and the beds were large and comfortable. We enjoyed the view of the Bosherous.

Fundamentally the pictures on Booking.com gave an exaggerated rise view of the reality. Everything is rather run down. Some specifics, room for three rather small and shower room as well. No shelves in wardrobes except one used for extra pillows and one for the safe. We had to ask for an extra suitcase rack so we could live out of that. Safe refused to open on 2 days but was fixed. Lots of dust under the beds. Teabags not always replenished. Breakfast was poor and often both food and hardware were missing or in short supply. The hotplates didn't work so hot food was tepid or cold. Same offerings or minor changes. Interesting to note that the same issues have been occuring for some time.
