Good breakfast and good bar staff

The room was not as comfortable as I expected the radiator did not get warm the windows were draughty in the room and shower room, the shower was warm but not hot enough there was no handles in the shower and if there was no rubber mat to stand in it would be dangerous as the shower base was slippy. The meal on the evening was very nice but I felt it was totally unnecessary to have 3 different servers to ask if we were enjoying our meal 1 would be sufficient. The breakfast was very good and was the best part of our entire stay. The bar staff were very good very friendly and polite and brought the drinks to our table.

The fact that we were bothered by 3 different staff members at dinner, the lack of heating in the bedroom.

Our anniversary break

Staff were very helpful and friendly nothing was to much for them. Breakfast is amazing and food was great. Having the bowling green is a definite plus for a return visit in the summer

breakfast excellent. we had afternoon tea the following day - staff were attentive to dietary requirements and ensured that I could have something I would like to eat as well as being able to eat. Impressed with the choice of tea/coffee/hot chocolate in bedroom. had a meal in restaurant on first evening - very good. wine (shiraz) was very smooth

couldn't work out the shower. bathroom sink a bit high - but i am only 5 foot tall!

Beautiful place with friendly, efficient staff.

Beautiful decorated in classic styling throughout, the hotel, coffee shop and restaurant were all beautiful with a relaxed vibe and ambiance. Staff were polite, friendly and efficient throughout. The restaurant meals were lovely, we’d recommend the goats cheese and fig tart starter and the sausage and mash!

Fabulous stay with all the bells and whistles

Location, very close to centre and great nearby square for coffee and breakfast as an option. Loved the old church and the church bells and the restaurant was amazing. So cute! Decor pretty, food great and bar awesome!

Our third stay in this hotel, they have really upped their game with the refurbishment.

Lovely room, well appointed, comfortable bed, good size bathroom, nice products. The public areas are decorated beautifully. Great breakfast in attractive restaurant, tables spread out nicely so felt private. All staff were great.

Only one bath towel supplied.

Lovely hotel

We had two rooms, both were clean and comfortable. The hotel is right in the heart of town and a short drive to British iron works. We ate dinner in the restaurant which was lovely and the food good quality. Good amount of parking on site. The man who works there, not sure of his name but he is also a fireman, was exceptionally friendly and helpful and a credit to the hotel.

There is no lift which is a bit tough. I booked two rooms but the one for my elderly father ended up being up a steep flight of stairs so he had to share with me on a lower floor. Just something to bear in mind for people with mobility issues or the elderly . Would be worth requesting lower rooms .

Excellent hotel in Oswestry

Breakfast was very good, eggs Benedict was very tasty and staff were attentive. Plenty of parking controlled by a barrier with key code exit, which felt safe and secure.

The tv in the room didn’t face the bed. Not a big issue for me, but others might think this important.

Bit disappointed

The service and the food were fantastic.

The location, such a shame its right in the town. Very loud at night with people leaving pubs etc also where our room was we were right next to the kitchen extract fan which was so loud up until around 10pm then kicked in again at 7am so we didn't sleep well at all. Also to top it off there was a road sweeper that woke us up about 6.30am. We won't stay again only because of where its located

The ground floor is great, and the rooms we hired for Mums 90th were excellent. The staff were excellent and felt they went the extra mile for Mum

It was a shame one of the rooms was a walk way to and from the toilets. I maybe a coffee snob, but I do prefer barista coffee as opposed to filter coffee at breakfast. I am more than willing to pay extra for the coffee, but this didn’t seem to be an option. The cafe Wilsons was open, and is part of the hotel, but I was only able to sneak a takeaway coffee in to the breakfast room, as we weren’t allowed to take coffee from Wilson’s to the breakfast room. If the filter coffee was great it wouldn’t have been an issue, I drink black coffee which means the taste of the coffee is important to me. Appreciate that there is minimal staff at breakfast, but surely there’s a workaround.

Would stay again but not near the boiler room

Lovely hotel and staff friendly, however We were situated just above the boiler room so as we needed the windows open ( as was warm) we had a low drumming all night. Neither of us slept well. We considered asking if we could swap rooms but it was already past midnight. We explained to the receptionist in the morning who said she would pass on our comments to the manager. Not heard anything from the hotel.

Hotel is prime location in Oswestry with lots of different shops and things of interest in close proximity. The hotel was more than expected, staff were polite, friendly and very efficient. Food was amazing along with the service.would definitely recommend staying here.

Excellent hotel in great location

The staff excellent and knowledgeable of the area and helped with any queries. Would definately make a point of staying for a couple of nights on our way to Wales . It is so handy for the town which has some great independent shops as well as cafe's and bars . We also had food and drink in their bar . There was onsite parking too, which is a bonus in a town centre.

The bottle of prosecco was a little pricey but other drinks reasonable
