    My sister and I booked a 2 night spa break at Lion Quays as a birthday treat. It was easy to get to from our Birmingham base and the location along the canal is really lovely. The spa facilities are very good with a cafe for hot drinks and light bites. The Waterside Restaurant and bar is clean and spacious and a really nice ambience for dinner and breakfast. The staff in all areas of the resort are extremely helpful and polite, could not fault them at all. If there was one area for improvement I would say it's the condition of the fixtures and fittings in the rooms. They could do with a significant update as could some of the chairs in the restaurant which have considerable wear and tear. It's a real shame as otherwise we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, I'm sure it's down to budget etc judging by comments made by club members we spoke to. Oswestry is a 10 minute drive away which is also worth a visit, a lovely town with a mixture of high st stores and small independents. I would definitely consider returning if only they'd spend some money on upgrading the rooms.

    Our room was close to the reception and just in front of the toilet…so it was very noisy all the time. Since all rooms are facing to the same neglected garden, there is no privacy if we open the curtain. Also the pictures of this hotel on Agoda were very beautiful and well-mentioned , but actually it was quite old. I won’t stay again.
