Buyer beware

As I was attending a concert in nearby Codroipo, it was conveniently located… the “Grand” Hotel may have been grand at one time, but it has been let go in maintenance. It was relatively inexpensive.

Let’s see, where do I start? Check-in is from 3 pm supposedly…I got there at 6 pm and my room wasn’t ready…I waited 20 min for the key. Ok, it can happen… I went to my room which was spacious but unbearably hot…turned on the AC that started blowing air just slightly cooler than the air in the room, with much rumbling noise. I tried to lower the blind on the window to block the sun, and it only went down half way and stopped! I should mention that the bathroom was clean, but the hallway carpet and floor in the room had large stains and have seen better days. I was running late for the concert so I got ready in a hurry but stopped at reception to inform the girl about the shutter not working, which was my main concern since I cannot sleep when it’s bright. She said she would go and fix it, but I could change rooms on my return. When I came back at 1 am the blind was not fixed and I was way too tired to try and pack up to change rooms, since my things were still there (usually when changing rooms the staff helps you carry your stuff to the new room)… so I had the worst night’s sleep in a while, with the AC sounding like a truck engine, blowing lukewarm air, and of course at dawn I was wide awake from the sun! I spoke to the guy at reception to let him know about the broken shutters and he said they don’t have broken shutters! I beg to differ… but he did comp me an ice cream I had bought… so bottom line, make sure everything works when you get to your room. Oh, also, don’t be fooled by the “minibar” sign…it’s just an empty fridge..

Do not recommend staying there due to water issues that were not fixed.

Location was okay. Rooms were okay. Staff was very appologetic.

Water in the bathroom was too hot to use at first, after complaining there was no water at all and non of the staff members did anything else than apologise - no place to shower or use the bathroom. Do not recommend staying there.

Good place/base when traveling through the region

The town is nice - a couple of cafes, bars and restaurants, many wineries around in the region for wine tasting.

Nothing in particular. We heard the bells ringing from the nearby church at 7 am, not sure whether this was a special occasion or whether this is regular, but in any case quite early during summer (July) when most people are in a holiday regime and want to sleep longer.

Excellent!!

The location was excellently situated in a leafy residential area and yet only a 5-minute walk from a fantastically nice town full of shops and restaurants. Breakfast was a good continental breakfast. Everything was fresh and constantly replenished. For Italian standards a very extensive breakfast choice. The hotel has a lovely garden with a fantastic swimming pool with plenty of sun loungers. The pool was kept very clean. The pool also had a small terrace where she served drinks and a small snack. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful, including when booking a table in a restaurant and advising where to buy wine. The room was kept thoroughly clean every day and the bed linen was changed very regularly. The room had good air conditioning that was easy and understandable to operate. In short, higly recommended!

The restaurant only opens for special occasions, but we knew that beforehand. And there are plenty of restaurants in the town,

Toilet seat was broken. Door to the mini fridge was partly unhinged. The faucet in the bathroom does not flow well. There is little cold water coming out of faucet.

Nice hotel, comfortable rooms, good breakfast, nice pool. The staff is really friendly and kind. The hotel is a bit "retro" but we liked it. Good choice to explore the neighborhood.

I do not recommend the restaurant for dinner - we tried but the quality was just around average and for that it was really overpriced. In the room we had only 2 pcs of electricity sockets so it was a bit challenging to charge all of our devices during the nights.

A bit outdated

Property has free parking lot and outside pool. Located about 20 min walk to center. There is a bar and restaurant inside hotel.

It is really getting out of date and the back side of hotel looks quite abandoned. They offer free bikes to ride but the quality and lack of maintenance shows results. Staff friendly but constantly running from reception to bar to restaurant to pool, so expect some delays for certain services. Breakfast just ok.

VIAGGI IN MOTO

La posizione strategica per chi viaggia e deve recarsi in Austria. Staff gentilissimo: ci hanno permesso di parcheggiare la moto all'interno di un loro box gratuitamente il che per noi viaggiatori in moto è fondamentale più che le proprie camere. camera pulita, comoda e spaziosa.

La colazione potrebbe essere più variegata ma considerato che eravamo pochi ospiti, capisco la strategia dell'Hotel.

Ottima base di appoggio per una visita a Spilimbergo

Gentilissimo lo staff. Stanza e bagno grandi, letto con materasso comodissimo. In zona tranquilla. Colazione buona, sia dolce che salata. Abbiamo potuto usufruire gratuitamente di un garage custodito per la nostra moto. Pur essendo a una decina di minuti a piedi dal centro, abbiamo avuto a disposizione gratuita le biciclette per tutto il tempo della nostra visita alla cittadina.
