The View Luxury Apartments Taormina

As you can imagine, the view is stunning, with a clear view out to sea from right at the top of Taormina. The room is clean, with a nice balcony, nice bathroom and very comfy beds.

The climb back up isn't for the faint hearted - a 20 - 30 minute walk, all uphill via steps to right at the top of Taormina. For reference it is very close to the Madonna della Rocca. The pool was nice but it was absolutely freezing when we went (mid-September) - more like a plunge pool than a swimming pool! Also, the walls seemed very thin so we could hear our next door neighbours snoring quite loudly in the night.

Excellent service from Roberto our ninja host. The views were amazing and the walk down to Umberto Corso was breathtaking (metaphorically and literally)

The view was spectacular and the accommodation was very comfortable. Roberto was an excellent host and made sure we had everything we needed.

The property is very far out of the centre of Taormina. The fastest route to walk to the old town takes 15 minutes down a series of steep back alleys and steps, and the scenic route takes about 1/2 an hour. But it’s not really possible to walk back up in the dark and the taxis in Taormina cost a flat rate of €20, even for a short trip, so that adds cost to your stay. Also, there don’t seem to be many taxis and so a couple of evenings we ended up waiting 20-30 mins for a taxi back to The View after dinner. Also, the accommodation is set up for 2 people (the 3rd sleeping spot is a day bed and the kitchen is equipped with two of everything), so this slightly damped our enjoyment of the accommodation, because we were a group of 3 women.

THE VIEW is stunning! The kitchen, bathroom, soaps, lotion, comfy bed and veranda were all so very nice! When a torrential downpour surprised us, the staff ran to find umbrellas for us. And Roberto was incredibly helpful and responsive!

My only warning is how far up the mountain it is, so be prepared to figure out the bus schedule from town or pay €30 each evening to get back to The View after dinner.
