Tokyu Stay Hakata

The room was spacious enough for a couple and could comfortably accommodate two 28-inch suitcases. Having a washing machine in the room was very convenient for washing clothes daily, although I would recommend checking and cleaning the machine before use. The hotel is also in a great location, about a 5-minute walk from Hakata Station, with both Lawson and FamilyMart nearby. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the housekeeping service. We stayed for 10 days, and on several occasions the tissue box was empty for up to two days. Even when towels were replaced, the tissues were not replenished until we provided feedback. The housekeeping standard was not up to expectations. For example, room slippers were never returned to their original place after cleaning, whereas this is commonly done at many other hotels in Japan. After five days, a major room cleaning was carried out, but we could still see hair in the bathtub, and parts of the room remained dusty and not thoroughly cleaned. This was disappointing considering the length of our stay. Another area for improvement is the staff's knowledge of local events. During July, Hakata Gion Yamakasa is one of Fukuoka's most famous festivals. When I asked about the rehearsal schedule, the staff were unable to provide any information. As a hotel serving many tourists, it would be beneficial for staff to be familiar with major local events and their schedules so they can better assist guests. Overall, the room size, location, and in-room washing machine were excellent, but the housekeeping service and local knowledge of the staff need improvement.

Tokyu Stay is always my first choice whenever I visit Japan. The biggest reason is the in-room washing machine, which makes longer trips so much more convenient since I can pack lighter. The room size is also comfortable for two people, with enough space to relax after a day of sightseeing. My only complaint is that there are a few too many chairs and tables. I would have preferred more open floor space to fully open our suitcases, so we ended up moving some furniture around to make it work.

Slightly tight room but it equipped with everything we need, even with washer dryer combo and ironing board. Love the friendliness of the staff, and plenty of amenities were given for free even bath salts. We were given a choice of free drink at the cafe everyday, a go-to-hotel chain in Japan.

I saw some dust close to the window and 2 insects died on there. So scary. And, I have requested limited housekeeping, but they just only replace the trash bin bag, if u have some trash close to the trash bin, they didn’t clean up. The toilet trash bin is too small, not enough to use.
