Bastide Saint-Didier

Beautiful property with a stunning garden, within walking distance of a village that has everything you need. The breakfasts are exceptional. Every morning there was a different homemade tarte or cake – we stayed for a week and there wasn’t a single repetition. Alongside that were cold meats, cheese, yoghurt, granola, pastries, fresh fruit (often from the garden), delicious fresh bread with excellent French butter, and homemade jams made from their own fruit. The hosts are a genuinely lovely couple. I normally avoid places where reviews rave about the owners because I prefer to get on with my own holiday, but they completely changed my mind. They are warm, welcoming and genuinely helpful without ever being intrusive. They really understand the meaning of hospitality, and nothing seems too much trouble. Jasmine even gave us some seeds from her spectacular giant hibiscus flowers – although I suspect ours won’t produce blooms the size of dinner plates! The pool is a great size for a small property and has a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere. Most guests headed out sightseeing in the mornings before returning to relax by the pool in the late afternoon. The guest kitchen is a brilliant idea, and the Monday market in Saint-Didier is small but perfectly formed. It’s ideal for buying delicious local food to enjoy for dinner. We ate out on alternate evenings, with La Calade in Blauvac being a particular highlight. The air conditioning was also excellent, which was invaluable during the heatwave and isn’t something you can take for granted in older properties

Nothing. We were in the suite on the second floor so don’t book that if you have mobility problems. Richard was very helpful with our cases though

The property is ideally located close to Saint-Didier (walking distance possible) and lots of other beautiful villages. The property is wonderfully decorated, extremely clean and plenty of facilities available on site (pool, outdoor kitchen, beautiful garden, dinner spot in the garden available etc.). Very comfortable rooms, every amenity was carefully selected (from the quality of soaps to the towels etc.). Not to mention, the delicious breakfast! Lastly, the local tips provided by Richard and Jasmine were great and extremely useful. The website they put together is of great help if you are in the region for the first time.

Beautiful location and a beautiful house and gardens / hosts Jasmine and Richard were incredibly kind and generous and have fantastic recommendations on itineraries and restaurants in the area that avoid the crowds and experience the best of Provence

It is such a pleasure to be able to relate what a wonderful experience we had at the Bastide St. Didier. I don't know that we have ever experienced such warm and welcoming hosts. Richard and Jasmine are genuine, caring and knowledgable. The breakfast was remarkable. We were able to sit out in the garden for our meal, which was a pleasure. The Bastide itself is beautiful and shows the pride of the couple's many years of work. The garden is Jasmine's pride and that pride shows itself. Beautifully composed and tended. We were there in April and it was beautiful. When the lavender is in bloom it must be stunning. We walked into the village and had a great light dinner. The next day we took a drive through the Gorges de la'Nesque which was striking. We also took time to have lunch at Les Remparts, which we enjoyed. Finally, the other guests were pleasant, and seemed equally appreciative of the setting and the hosts. Would love to return.

There was nothing at the property, or with the hosts, that could have been better for us. We were completely satisfied.
