Service was exceptional. We love that this is a very local ryokan with traditional geika performances that let us experience the deep culture of this onsen town. We also love that the staff is extremely accommodating. When we arrived, we were first informed that we weren't able to choose teppanyaki for our second night's dinner because it was fully booked. We had kids with us, so we were left extremely disappointed... but not for long! The staff accommodated us by extending the opening hours of their teppanyaki kitchen, so the kids got to experience the magic! Kaiseki and breakfast were amazing as well! I love the detail they put into the presentation and preparation.

The location is a bit far from the main town, it's not a comfortable walk in your geta, for the ladies, especially not the high ones. If you enjoy walking, walk in comfortable athletic shoes. There's also the option to walk from town to the ryokan along the gorge, please wear proper shoes.

廊下へ出ると下水のような匂いがする。エレベーターに冷房がない。

Bien avant toute chose, il faut comprendre que cet hôtel n'est pas à destination d'une clientèle européenne. Alors oui la décoration est raffiné, les bains font le taf, les kimonos à disposition, le repas gastronomique à la japonaise mais voilà tout.

Attention lorsque vous réservez les photos ne correspondent pas à la chambre. Il m'aura fallu quasiment être irrespectueux afin de faire valoir ma réservation photo à l'appui. Les chambres sont sommaires et d'un autre temps mais soit clair c'est le concept de l'hôtel. Personnellement je n'y retournerai pas si d'aventures je re participe à l'utah Kaga.
