Beautiful building in a historic town. Very clean, spacious rooms and a very warm and helpful welcome.

Nearby bar/club quite loud at night and went on until the early hours.

Location was great, very welcoming manager who spoke good English and was very helpful talking about the history of the house and recommending places to visit, including his best addresses for particular types of food and drinks. Beautiful looking historical house. High-ceilings, generally spacious, very quiet for a city centre location considering the house has no double glazing windows. It was especially amazing not to have heard one single dog barking, a real treat in Portugal! Great breakfast in a luminous area that offers elevated view towards the surroundings and the aquaduct. Spacious and comfortable bed. Large bathroom. Free parking further up the street but spots more difficult to find during the daytime.

The pillows quality could have been much better which to us downgraded the comfort of our sleep. The bathroom, just like many places we stayed at, lacked some practicality. Though very spacious in this instance, with a double sink and a large shower cubicle, there was no hooks on the wall to hang shower towels to dry conveniently, nowhere to put the smaller towels by the sink, they located one mirror in the angle of the wall by one sink, why not have another one on the opposite side for the other sink? In anycase the mirror is totally impractical for shaving and worse for those needing to blow dry and style their hair. There are big wall spaces unused, why not having a useful mirror there and a set of hooks? The left hand tap on the sink unit was moving, another design fault which could not be rectified by tightening it ourselves due to how the all thing was designed. It seems it would require breaking the underside of the shelf supporting the sink to fix the problem! The team that attends the place to prepare breakfast appears to be of students (?), they were rather indifferent to the guests, one guy appeared to have been one of the girl's boyfriend coming to have his own breakfast and he seemed to forget where he was, a space with paying customers. He never expressed any sign of basic politeness. This was definitely a negative point.

The property had a great location, the building was beautiful, the room was comfortable, and the staff were really nice and helpful.

Beautiful house/ building. Large bedroom & bathroom

Not enough furniture in the large bedroom & bathroom! ( We found a folding canvas “ director’s” chair in hallway, which we put in the bathroom for some storage space etc. Cleaning not very professional. (eg Aircondifioner/ heating unit was CAKED in dust when opened to use) Breakfast food should be better! Mattress should be better! Information about the area ??
