The highlight for us was the sauna space and also that our small dog could stay with us. We also enjoyed that it was not a Hotel Business it was a holiday on a farm style easy and relaxed. I traveled with my parents in the 80s and they loved the atmosphere from the castle as well as the one from the farm side with fresh eggs and local food.

Exceptional

The thing that makes Saalhof Castle is the host. They want you to feel at home, slippers as you come up the stairs, a fridge full of their home made goods ( jam, cheese, schnappes, etc ) a guide with alot of information written in both English and German. We stayed for two nights while skiing off season in Kitzsteinhorn. It was an easy 25 min drive with plenty of parking when you reached Kitsteinhorn. Kathrin (the host) was really knowledgable about the area and was able to tell us when we arrived that the mountain had been closed the day before. The guide book had great tips like that the bakery was open on sunday. Although we enjoyed this place for the 2 nights it felt like we didnt have time to make the most of everything on offer (bbq, smoke house, seeing how the farm works, hikes on their lands) as well as all the stuff in the local area. It would be perfect for a family week or long weekend get away. The place as described in the pictures is rustic BUT there was a modern tv, wi fi really nice bathroom 2 new saunas and a relaxation room for afterwards. I would certainly recommend to any of our friends or family visiting the area.

We were only staying 2 nights ( and out of season November) we were looking to eat out. The closest place was a pizza place over the road. This suited us perfectly on the first night and we cooked on the second night in our kitchenette. If you like eating out all the time and not driving then it may not be the ideal location. However, a number of places were closed because it was between seasons. Again even at this time if year we had a choice of 3.

Prettig verblijf in geweldige locatie. Bijzonder sfeervol.

Prachtig slot annex boerderij. Prima gelegen qua ski gebieden. Heel vriendelijk personeel. Kamer was zeer sfeervol, niet heel erg ruim,maar alles was aanwezig en schoon.

Ventileren alleen mogelijk door raam te openen, en dan veel geluid van de weg. In de winter geen probleem, maar kan zomers wel warm zijn,lijkt ons.

goed geplaatst voor alle skigebieden rondom (per auto of skibus) te bereiken. Heel comfortabel appartement, alles wat je nodig hebt is er.

Naar mijn gevoel net iets te duur, voor 2 personen dan toch. Met 3 of 4 personen is de prijs wel Ok.

Unikatowe miejsce, serdeczny gospodarz, bardzo polecam :) idealna komunikacja skibusami bo ośrodków narciarskich zell am see oraz Saalbach - przystanki w obie strony pod obiektem.

Een uniek en relaxt verblijf in een authentiek kasteel.

Met ons hele gezin bestaande uit 10 personen en onze hond verbleven wij op de bovenste verdieping van het kasteel. Een onvergetelijke unieke ervaring! Daarnaast viel de sauna met aangrenzende relaxruimte ook bij ons allen in zeer goede smaak.

Tolle Unterkunft, gerne wieder!

Sehr höfliche und nette Gastgeber, tolle Anlage mit viel Liebe zum Detail, netter Spabereich und bei Interesse Kontakt zu den hofeigenen Tieren

leider liegt das Schloss direkt an einer Hauptstraße, die unser Appartment aber nicht betraf, da es in die andere Richtung gelegen war

Außergewöhnlich freundlich. Das komplette Ambiente von alt bis neu. Einfach nur toll. Sehr empfehlenswert für Familien mit Kindern. Erlebnis pur.

Goed!

Het is een unieke locatie. Je moet wel zelf voor je eten zorgen maar voor het avondeten ligt er een prima restaurant aan de overkant van de straat. Bij dit restaurant krijg je korting als je aangeeft dat je bij Saalhof verblijft. Saalhof heeft fijne privé sauna opties en onze hond was ook welkom.

Urlaub am Bauernhof mit Spielaction, Ausblick und Entspannung

Die Räumlichkeiten waren sehr schön - waren im Schwalbennest: die Ausstattung in der Küche, Raumaufteilung (ein Gemeinschaftszimmer mit Küche, Essecke, Bett, Schrank und Türen zum Bad/ Toilette (getrennt), ein Vorraum und ein weiteres kleines Zimmer mit Bett und Schrank) , geräumige Dusche mit Druck und die Ausstattung der Bäder (Shampoo, Seife, Handtücher, Toilettenpapier), bequeme Betten - alles top und wir hatten den schönsten Blick auf das Schloss :) Super war auch, dass das Babyphone bis zur Sauna reichte, welche wir an drei Abenden nur für uns hatten (kann man schnell per WhatsApp bei der Gastgeberin reservieren). Der Saunabereich ist insgesamt auch sehr großzügig und liebevoll gestaltet. Und sehr zu empfehlen ist der Brötchen-Service, Brötchen und Brot - es gibt Vollkorn-Varianten, sind sehr lecker. Unserer Tochter (3) haben natürlich die Kühe, der Spielplatz, die vielen anderen Kinder vor Ort draußen und die ganzen Fahrmöglichkeiten für die Kids am Besten gefallen :) Rundum empfehlenswert!

Die Nähe zur Bundesstraße ist natürlich nicht von der Hand zu weisen, hat uns aber nicht sehr gestört, die Lage ist top - es gibt so viele schöne Wanderrouten und Zell am See ist ein Katzensprung mit dem Auto entfernt! - Also nichts :)
