Room facilities rather tired = shower in need of maintenance; small TV screen, limited channel list; Milk-based coffee (from machine) at breakfast tasted odd General permanent smell of food throughout the hotel was off-putting, but probably attributable to being an old building

Nice Place near Center Lille

Free, safe parking...once you find the correct entry! Patient desk staff. Nice breakfast room and Food. 10 min walk to restaurants.

Hot shower water was slow. Directions from booking.com site lead us to the wrong gate and had no signs to help us in the dark. Inside the parking area, the hotel entry was not clearly indicated. It's to the right!!

Beautiful property. Fabulous decor. Very friendly and helpful staff with great knowledge of the buildings history. The restaurant for dinner.

Funky but Sort of Functional

It has personality and gated parking. And the staff try hard in a laid back way.

It’s a bit run down, creaky and well past its prime. There’s a bar, but no place to sit, though they could easily put it in the breakfast room. It’s a hike to the center, but that’s not a deal killer for me.

Okay for a one night stay

Secured gated parking, outdoor seating area, comfortable mattress, friendly staff

Clogged shower drain - we had to take only a short shower because the shower tray got full of water very quickly and was at a risk of overflowing There was some noise outside of our room at night which woke us up a few times. Just before 7am the fire alarm got triggered but we received no instructions from the staff regarding evacuation.

Disappointing

Spacious room. Tasteful decor.

Air conditioning was inadequate and the rooms were too hot. We booked the hotel to enjoy the restaurant, as the reviews were good. However, it was closed during our visit and we only had the choice of burgers or merguez and chips (some other meat and cheeses on platters too). No choice for gluten free. The hotel was also unable to offer parking for the weekend.

A good hotel with helpful and friendly staff.

Really good breakfast, friendly and helpful staff, good secure car parking. The room was warm without being stuffy, clean and comfortable, nice size bathroom and a great shower with plenty of hot water.

The rooms were a little noisy, I think this was partly due to the age of the building as the corridor floors were a bit creaky so one can hear people walking past the room, and sometimes upstairs too.

Decent hotel, excellent reception staff

Above all, the reception staff is super duper helpful. They make up for most of the downsides of the hotel. Parking space was very helpful for us.

Our room was congested. They could have done without the table/chair. There was not enough space to fit everything in that room. It's located at 20min walk from city centre but it's in a not so great neighborhood/street. Room cleaning on one of the days during our stay wasn't good (towels were replaced, bed made but not otherwise cleaned).

Friendly staff and good food, but rooms lack character and hotel is far from centre.

The staff were fantastic, always friendly, always helpful and always smiling. The restaurant food was incredible — easily one of the best dinners I've had this year (but we didn't try breakfast).

The room itself was a little sparse and the hotel is quite a far walk from the old town, which is really the only place you want to be. The room doesn't have a fridge or ironing facilities and the shower flooded on the second day. Plus, our safe didn't work (but I didn't flag this to the hotel, they might have fixed it if I did.) The bathroom felt old and in need of some decorating. The room was nice enough but very minimalist and lacking character. With all this in mind, it felt overpriced — and I got a free room upgrade. Plus, they'll only leave 1 small bottle of water, which isn't enough when the room gets very hot at night and you can only open 1 window a slither. Also, while the staff were very friendly, the hotel offers a free drink if you opt out of having your room cleaned. We only stayed for 2 nights, so decided to claim the drink, but when I tried I was told we could only have soft drinks. The information left in the room though very clearly says you can have an alcoholic drink. While this was resolved, and we were given a glass of wine each, it would have been nicer if I didn't have to go to my room and come back to reception with the leaflet from the room to prove that I was right. Just makes the whole experience a bit awkward.

older property with mold issues, ensure you request a different room.

location, so many drug addicts and beggars in the vicinity. first room we were shown had a VERY strong mold smell, and was so small, we couldn’t get our bags in the door then walk around them. we had booked for 7 nights so requested a change of room or we would cancel, the next room was much better, but only a little bigger. staff were not overly friendly or engaging, I think may have been the language barrier.

Nice hotel, great staff and breakfast, free parking, OK location.

Room was nice (the lift was silent, btw) - staff were very helpful and efficient and the breakfast was great. Key to us was parking - this is one of the few hotels in Lille where parking is free and unlimited, and we wanted to leave the car for a couple of days to just walk around the city.

The location isn't brilliant - not the hotel's fault as a large development is underway to improve the area. It's also a little bit on the outskirts if town (15 mins walk to the belfry), but that's the compromise of having free parking

Cheap hotel with parking close to main roads out of Lille.

Receptionist was friendly, car park is secure, it is close to main roads out of Lille. There's a little outdoor area which looks alright. It was 60 mins from Eurotunnel.

The room had some ventilation or something in the walls that sounded like a jet engine and ran all night. The view is of a building. The restaurant was closed and there was no alternative. There wasn't anything open nearby on Sunday. I stepped in dog poo in front of parking entrance gate (which is awkward and tight), not a great entrance.

Nice place for a city trip. To recommend.

Great location, the hotel is a historic building. Interesting history. Great guy at the reception desk with excellent advices for visits and good knowledge about the city. Nice breakfast in the morning. Room was comfy. And the private parking is definitely a big plus.

Huge issue, is the strong odor coming from the sewers. More likely to be a big problem within the city as we realized the same strong smell even in the city center. Nevertheless the hotel does everything to decrease the odor by specific treatments.

They pre authorized my card without telling anything. Really surprised my deposit is almost the same as my room rate. They said it would take 3 days but after 3 days, still haven't received my deposit bank. You definitely should have mentioned it before we check in

Awkward but clean hotel with good position

The room was clean, the staff was friendly with some spoken english and the hotel had a parking place for free. The hotel is nicely positioned in walking distance to the city center and also close to a metro station

The bathroom was really awkward with the positioning of the toilet, you could not use the toiled unless you opened the shower stall and even then you would sit in an really awkward and uncomfortable position. They also requested a guaranty for the room that they haven't released in the time they mentioned even though we provided them with a credit and not a debit card.

lovely hotel and great location near town

there was a lot of noise from within the hotel - hallways and above us in the early hours of the morning until around 9am so we struggled to get a full nights sleep.
