The Kings Arms Hotel

Friendly, helpful staff. Nice restaurant.

Room and bathroom floors were on a serious tilt and sloping floor in bedroom and bathroom made you feel drunk if you tried to visit the bathroom during the night. Poor view from bedroom and large vent fan outside bedroom window made the room smell of cooking food if bedroom window was opened. When returning I would try to avoid that room because otherwise the hotel was very good

We’ve stayed here many times on our trips north, it’s a great location in the middle of the town, clean comfortable rooms, and the staff are very friendly. The breakfast was cooked just for us and was delicious

Lovely little gem of a hotel. Clean, newly decorated and our room was great. Comfortable bed, mugs for drinking which I loved instead of little cups and friendly staff. Decor was lovely and everything spot on

Nothing

The staff were fantastic, very professional, helpful and cheerful. The walled beer garden was wonderful, ancient walls covered in foliage and even an old well in the garden.

We were told we had booked an "Executive King Double Room", with an image of a really lovely room. In fact, this wasn't the room we got, this category isn't used at the hotel. Instead we got a standard double room, up 51 steps with no lift in that part of the hotel. The room was somewhat tired and the floor was like an ice-rink if you were wearing socks. It was clean however and the bed was comfy. I mentioned my disappointment to a member of staff who told me that it was Booking.com that allocated the rooms, not the hotel and that the room we stayed in was due for an update.
