An amazing hotel set in a beautiful location with the friendliest staff . It is an exceptional hotel !
From driving up the avenue to departing 2 days later everything was exquisite . The food and ambience in the Pullman was exceptional . Staff were the most friendliest bunch and nothing was a problem . The dinner in Palmers bar was unreal and the choices of cocktails in the cocktail bar were superb . Rooms were amazing and the little touches of chocolates on the pillows made for that extra touch . We thoroughly enjoyed our time here
It was all perfect

Enjoyable stay
Hotel was lovely. Staff very welcoming, room was very comfortable and facilities excellent especially the bathroom! Spa and massages were gorgeous!
The pillows in the room were soft. Would have liked them firmer or extra to be available in the room. Choice at breakfast was good but the service was a little slow.

Our stay here were the last two nights of our 10 day Ireland trip and by far the most comfortable.
The property was very plush. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was well appointed and very comfortable. The entire property was a delight to see.

Lovely complex but be specific on your room and book in advance for the Orient Resturant
The hotel is divided into several sections. The older abbey which overlooks a beautiful 9 hole golf course. One of the restaurants is made up of two carriages from the Orient Express. Several lounges such as the abbey itself is beautifully decorated. Be specific when booking that you want to stay in that section as there are several motel styled rooms separate from the main complex with no real views. Although they are clean spacious and very comfortable. Lovely gardens. Easy parking.
The more modern motel styled rooms arenāt connected to the Abbey which is a bit of a nuisance when it rains. Few stairs to get luggage to our room with no help from staff. Couldnāt lock our door and had to wait quite a while for a serviceman to come and fix it.

This is probably my favorite hotel that I have ever stayed in! I highly recommend anyone going to Galway to come to the
It was like you were living in the TV show Downton Abbey for a couple days. It was amazing!
Love the old school decor, and the grounds with the bike path. The food was great and so was the bar!

A dream stay.
Overall, a dream stay. Beautiful grounds, beautiful building and luxurious decor. Friendly, helpful staff. Lots of lovely little touches like classic movies each evening, gourmet dinner in the Pullman restaurant which is actually two train carriages from the original Orient Express, stylish cocktail bar and relaxing reading room in the Abbey.
Nothing. Only wished to stay longer...

Overall a lovely stay. The hotel decor, bar areas, lounges & sitting areas were all lovely.
Spacious & luxurious room, very clean, staff very pleasant & helpful.
Dinner could be improved, very average meal. Our bathroom was designed for a disabled person, open shower with rails, very high toilet & very low sink. I asked for a walk-in shower because I dislike showers over baths & didnāt expect a 5 star hotel to not have regular walk-in shower.

This is the one - book it.
Whilst the property is excellent it was the staff that made the experience truly exceptional. We would make special mention of our doorman and bartender. You could not meet nicer, more helpful people.
Pillows not great but okay

Perfect Stay
EVERYTHING. This is our 3rd stay at Glenlo Abbey. It did not disappoint. Love this hotel and all the helpful and friendly staff. Front desk and their staff were amazing. Always there to help with local suggestions. The cleaning staff always had our room cleaned so nicely. The restaurant staff were always friendly and great with their menu suggestions and efficiency. The bar staff were so nice and the drinks were made any way you wanted them. Love the restaurants, especially the Pullman. Compliments to the chefs. It was a perfect stay (again).
Nothing, we hated to leave.

Classy property and special opportunities (falconry, on site nine golf course) but the fee to stay is commensurate with
Great staff, and wonderful breakfast.
No workout area, brother seems to be true of most properties in Ireland, and our room looked out on the Pullman restaurant, which was closed for upgrades and we could not use it

Exceptional all round
Stunningly gorgeous property, close to Galway city. Rooms were spacious and well appointed. Customer Service was top notch. Special mentions to the breakfast supervisor and Estelle (who served us breakfast one morning) at the River Room. Estelle stood out because she was always smiling, welcoming and made great suggestions on our order. The other special mention is that someone on the front staff spotted us carrying our luggage when we were checking out and ran over to help us out. These little details matter, so keep it going Glenlo Abbey staff.
I have only one minor nit. We're creatures of habit and used to having a desk fan in our room (regardless of AC, regardless of how cool it is where we are visiting). Knowing this isn't a common ask, I had emailed the property ahead of time to request a desk fan and was told it was available and would be in our room. It was not. And the mildly annoying part was that Holly at the front desk acted a bit miffed that we asked for a fan when we checked in, told us the property had AC (which we were well aware of) and did not follow up with us at all. We had to go back and ask again and were told housekeeping was looking, and then nothing.
We had to Google the nearest home store, scramble to it, purchase a fan and assemble it. We have left it for the hotel to keep handy for other creatures of habit like us š
The reason I call this out, even though it's a minor nit and the property is honestly just exceptional in every way possible is that when you pay for 5 star service, you expect nothing less, no balls can be dropped and one ball did drop.

Lovely rooms and gorgeous property. Take the falconry class!
The room was lovely. Comfy bed, very clean, and the bathtub was nice. Breakfast was greatāa nice spread of fruits, granola, cheeses, and breads to choose from, plus hot custom made breakfast dishes from the menu. Our favorite part was taking the falconry class with Jason. That was a phenomenal experience! Highly recommend. Also, if you want to eat at the restaurant while you're there, make reservations in advance.
There are so many Americans staying there! It was a little shocking to hear so many Americans thereāmaybe because the property has a golf course? Also, I wish I had been warned to make reservations in advance for the dining experience, but I should have known to. Gorgeous property, but only one pub that's walking distance, so you have to take taxis into the town, but that was fine.

Staying at Glenlo was one of the highlights of the trip.
Stately and gorgeous estate!
There was glitch in the check-in process that could not be corrected by their system.

Superb facilities, location and staff.
Beautiful facilities and location. Wonderful restaurants. Helpful and friendly staff.
Our bathroom door (room 102) was exceptional heavy and had a closure assembly which meant door could not be left open. Had to stuff towels between jam and door to get rid of humidity.

It was good, but definitely not good value for money
The breakfast was good, but not amazing and the price they charge for B&B I think
It should be absolutely amazing
The meal in the Pullman was good, but I think some veg with the main course might be nice also I hate crackers that are like days old bread being served with cheese

You won't find better service or a better location.
Breakfast in the morning room was amazing. One of the very few times that I did not mind paying a crazy amount for breakfast because from the fantastic room with exceptional service it was super. Definitely feels like that five star experience. Room was fab and huge, stayed in a classic king bed. Aircon worked perfectly and easily as well. Room service was quicker than most and really nice. Restaurant was lovely and cosy with great food and great service again. The doormen at the front of the hotel were both amazing too and helped with suitcases the moment we showed up.
Only downside was the bath in the bathroom to step into made it impossible for my older mother to take a shower as bad knees. I'm quite young and even I struggled a little bit. Definitely should just be a walk in shower.
Accessability for people with mobility issues takes a little exploring of the hotel to figure out. Had to go around the main building to get into it which was fine but once inside, getting to breakfast in the morning and avoiding steps was a bit of a chore without proper signage.
Pillows were ultra soft which I really dislike but that is a personal thing. Just a warning for anyone that needs a firmer pillow for sleep.

We didn't want to leave
Luxurious hotel set in glorious grounds with a lovely view over the Lough and surrounding countryside. The staff were mostly young and friendly and chatting with them made our stay so much more enjoyable. Breakfast was substantial and we enjoyed dinner at Palmers each night. Easter lunch was a big treat in the Lake Room. We missed out on the Pullman dining - the next time we're in this part of Ireland, we'll definitely book early to reserve a table. Our three nights here went too fast!
Faint smell of drains coming from the bathroom and bathroom door was self closing so we needed to chock it open with a towel to dissipate steam. I couldn't find a fan switch.

Everything about the resort is top notch- from the friendly and helpful staff, to the rooms, food (breakfasts in the gorgeous river room and dinner and lunch at Palmerās). The location and amazing views were perfection. The whole family loved our stay and we would definitely come back.

Beautiful stay at a unique location
The staff, location and facilities were beautiful. We stayed over one night and it happened to be Mother's Day, so we were slightly disappointed that there were no spa appointments, falconry or restaurant reservations available for the pullman car when we were there. On the plus side, they upgraded our room and we ate a very nice dinner at the more casual restaurant and we were close to downtown Galway so we enjoyed a farmer's market and shops in Galway.

Should of stayed Longer
Staff are so attentive + friendly. Facial was so relaxing.
The bathroom door, fire door, was very heavy + I felt dangerous the way it would slam shut. A child could have their fingers taken off them.

The best hotel stay I've ever had. I intend on returning some day with my husband.
Breakfast was incredible. Beautiful and stately breakfast room with vaulted ceiling and chandeliers. Hot breakfast made to order and extensive breakfast bar. Incredible service with professional and friendly staff.
I advise bringing a small wedge to place under heavy bathroom door to prevent it from swinging shut.
