About this house rental

This wonderful, quiet little cabin is tucked in behind your hosts' home. Although there are other homes around the cabin you will enjoy the feel of being in the country. The trees surrounding the house are plentiful and the outdoor picnic area is perfect for enjoying nature.

Inside is a large open living room and kitchen offering hill country decor. The living room has a comfy leather sofa (also a sleeper bed) and over sized chair- both are placed to enjoy the cable television. A fully equipped kitchen is large and perfect for those quiet evenings when you just want to stay in! The kitchen has a large refrigerator, range/oven and microwave. There is also a wonderful wood table that seats four.

A queen sleigh bed is in the bedroom topped with a coverlet and decorative pillows. Two wicker chairs and a table are found in the bedroom for that quiet reading time. The bath has a shower. Behind the bathroom is a washer and dryer, which is available for guests use.

A wonderful highlight of this home is the screened porch just outside the living room. Enjoy nature in all seasons at the table for four. It is inviting and waiting for your arrival.

I work at a summer camp in the area, so this was an ideal place to stay for two weeks due to its central location to my camp. Driving in, there are beautiful views with deer everywhere. The cabin is located directly behind the owner's house, but I didn't see them until the end of my stay. The house is spacious, and I felt at home. The kitchen has everything you may need or want. We asked to stay an extra night and even with someone coming the next day, we were quickly accommodated. We woke to news of flooding on July 4, 2025, but with the house a few minutes drive to the river, no flood waters entered the neighborhood (& this home is toward the back of the neighborhood). The owner called us to tell us the highway was closed & allowed us to stay until we were able to safely leave. She asked if we had any food & my husband let her know that we had packed it but shared we had snacks & we'd be okay. A little while later, she brought us groceries from her own home to ensure we would be able to make breakfast, lunch, & dinner. We were so grateful for her care & hospitality and will definitely be back. Not only is this is a great place to stay, but Carolyn is an incredibly kind and accommodating host. Thank you, Carolyn!

Our visit was for nine days.Very cute, cozy, and clean little cabin. Host was very helpful any time we called.Plenty of room. We really enjoyed our visit. This place had everything we needed and was furnished with all kinds of snacks, coffee, hot chocolate, tea, etc. We would definitely stay again if we are ever back in the area. And we really enjoyed watching the deer running around the yard.

The house is about a 20 minute drive to Kerrville so it was a little farther out than I expected. However, there is nothing I can suggest to improve the property. It is quiet, comfortable, easy to find and has a full kitchen with laudry.

This spacious spot in the hill country was the perfect place to stay at for a long weekend. The full fridge and stove made it possible to make some meals at the house, the screened in patio provided for some much needed quiet time in the mornings journaling and praying, and the firm bed was SUCH a nice change from all the too soft beds at other rentals. We have stayed here several times and have always enjoyed our stay. It's a nice, spacious home with all you need, in a beautiful area. It is located right behind the owner's home, but there is a tall wooden fence that separates them and we haven't ever really heard or ran into the owners. I recommend it to anyone who wants a quiet retreat, but within reach of many places to go see and things to do.

We stayed one night at the DUBL-C Guesthouse, as we were meeting friends for an evening at Crider's Dance Hall. The Guesthouse was pleasantly larger than anticipated, and very comfortable and welcoming. The wine, snacks, gourmet coffee, and candy in the fridge were a nice touch. Loved sitting on the screened porch in the morning and listening to the rain while drinking coffee. The only reason I didn't give a rating of 5 was because the cold water handle in the shower wouldn't turn off, and we had to fix it ourselves after the hosts told us what we needed to do. The hosts were aware this was a problem and hadn't had it fixed. We would definitely stay here again, though, especially after seeing a note inside that said if you stay two nights, you get one free!

We always enjoy our stay at DUBL-C. It is always so clean and the place is so nice and quite. It is truly a wonderful get away. That's why we go there so often. A little piece of Heaven here on earth. Curtis and Carolyn are lovely people. They truly make sure we have what we need from food, drinks, bedding, movies, you name it they are sure to make your stay a memorable one. Everything about DUBL-C is AMAZING. We'll be going back in another 2 months.

This is the second time in 4 months we've booked Dubl-C. We greatly enjoy the immense attention to detail the owners have provided. Snacks, chocolate, bottled water, sodas, lavish and luxurious linens and pillows, all natural shampoo/conditioner/lotion/soaps, heater lamp and citronilla candle on porch. They spared no expense on ensuring the guests had everything they needed, as if we were part of their family. This is a little piece of heaven in the hills of Texas.

This rental went beyond our expectations. The location is hidden behind the owner's own home. Although the shared driveway is narrow, it still left plenty of room to park and unload with no issues. There are deer throughout the property. I do not think it's within walking distance to the river. We chose to drive because of the main road having no shoulder to walk on. It's about a 5 minute drive to the public river parking area. The house was very clean and was very well stocked with necessities. The gas fireplace worked perfectly for our very cold weekend there. There is a Keurig with supplied K-cups of different flavors. There were sodas and water in the refrigerator. We stopped and bought our own groceries and cooked with the supplied pots and pans. There were some spices but I recommend bringing your own preferred spices. The owner's caretaker came to greet us when we arrived and did not see them again the entire weekend. It was a very private weekend. We will definitely stay here again!

The place is pretty easy to find, easy check in and check out. It was very peaceful, quiet and felt secure. There are lots of deer in the area that were enjoyable to watch. It has a guesthouse feel that is fairly primitive but comfortable. Nothing super fancy, but isn’t that the reason you visit the hill country?

My husband and I went for a short trip to Fredericksburg. This place is so peaceful and quiet. The snacks, sodas, coffee bar, and soaps in the bathroom were so thoughtful and much appreciated. We loved walking by the river which is so close by and even noticed they have a place to swim during the summer. We may come back just for that. The scenery is gorgeous, and in the morning we saw a baby fawn and her family which made for a great photo session. Overall this was a wonderful stay. The only problem we had was that it was a 45 minute drive from Fredericksburg and we were exhausted by the end of the day so the extra drive kicked our behinds. We loved our trip and our stay either way. Thanks for being awesome Hosts.

I hate to tell everyone how much we enjoyed staying at the guesthouse because it may be booked the next time we want to use it. The hosts were so accommodating and thoughtful! They had water, soft drinks and snacks for us. There was a fully stocked coffee bar and the bathroom had toiletries for guests. They even had some breakfast choices for guest in the freezer. The guesthouse was extremely clean and the bed was very comfortable. We loved hanging out on the screened in porch watching the deer and birds at the feeder. Downtown Kerrville is just a 10 minute drive and both Bandera and Fredericksburg are both just 20 miles away. We definitely will be staying at this property each time we go to the Texas Hill Country.
