The cottage is very peaceful with a lovely atmosphere. The little garden at the back looked very pretty with its flowers. Stairs to the bedrooms and bathroom are a little steep but not a problem as such. Kitchen has everything one needs. Complimentary tea and coffee provided and a pint of milk which was nice. The owner was helpful. Tideswell is a wonderful village. We hope to return to the cottage for a longer stay in the future. Thank you.
My only small negative is that the loo lid won’t stay up!

Lovely well furnished terraced cottage with garden in the village of Tideswell that made for an excellent 6-night break. The location of the cottage meant the various pubs, shops and cafes in the village were all accessible by foot. The location of Tideswell village was ideal to explore many places in the Peak District by car for days out. Our stay was just after mid summer's day, and the weather was kind, meaning we spent most of our time outside and didn't need to use the log burner. Would certainly return to use the cottage again. The owner was really helpful and responded with any questions promptly.
The kitchen could maybe benefit from some under unit/counter lighting to help when preparing meals.

Good location and very well furnished and equipped.
Parking was a little bit tricky due to the narrow streets-but we do love a challenge!

The cottage was comfortable. It was well-equipped, especially the kitchen, which had all the pots and pans you could need, a dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle. There was a utility room in the cellar with a washing machine. The linen and towels were provided and changed each week. The shower was powerful. I may have spent some time in the garden, had it been a little warmer, and had there not been scaffolding and building work going on next door. It looked like a pleasant little haven, though. I was staying on my own, but there would have been space for a couple or a small family. There was a myriad of lovely walks right from the doorstep. Tideswell has everything you need: pubs, cafes, a pharmacy, an Italian restaurant, fish and chip shop, a greengrocers, a Co-op, bus services to Castleton, Buxton and Bakewell, Sheffield. Other than the beautiful countryside, there is the ' Cathedral of the Peak' church, which is impressive. All in all, it was a very relaxing break and the cottage was a comfortable base.
The main downside was the building work taking place on the adjoining cottage. Most of this seemed to be roofing and was very loud, from the noise of the work and voices - you could hear every word. This continued even at the weekend and bank holidays. I accept this was not the fault of the property owner, and I was out a lot of the time, anyway, but it was very loud and did make the stay less peaceful than it could have been. I generally managed to find a parking space on the road by the cottage, but parking was limited by the property, which may necessitate parking on another road at times.
